Some Become Police Officers To Abuse Or Kill Those They Dislike Or Hate With Impunity Yes Or No?
A small percentage perhaps. But not as many as the media would have you believe.
Yes. I believe we are at about 2.5 percent of our population being socio or psychopathic. I would venture that it is about the same with police. Jailed folks have about a 25% wacko population. It would be expedient just to test everyone and lock up these sickos, but it kind of goes against our concepts of freedom. Guns don't murder people, cops don't murder people, normal criminals don't murder people -- psychos murder people. Find a way to get rid of that portion of society and our homicide rate would plummet to near zero.
I wouldn't think so, and that is why most police departments do psychological profiling on their police candidates.
It is more likely that any kind of prejudice against people might come from being on the job and being abused by some people.
