Why is Bill Clinton so revered in the public eye? His popularity is over 60%.

For those of us old enough to live through the 1990s of the Clinton presidency. We know so much about this couple. They were corrupt and they abused our system for their personal gain and power. They survived an impeachment process that took the country almost a year of diversion... He is more popular today than ever? I just don't get it. Please help me understand his attraction.

Jack, I'm not sure there are many who could ever explain this "love of Bill" thing to any of us.  Part of the push to get Hillary elected is that would would put Bill back in the White House again even though he would just be the "first man".

Most everyone knows how crooked and corrupt they are, yet Bill gets a pass on this part.  It is almost like the old West where some gunfighters and crooks were idolized by many.

There are many things in life that just can't be explained, that is just the way it works sometimes.

I just don't understand the attraction. I couldn't watch his speech last night. It was painful given his background to lie and make up stories. Yet the media on both political spectrum just soaked it up. Would you let this man near your children?

Personally I don't believe that poll. If they ask the right questions besides do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion you would have the answer to your question. Either way any of his popularity is a reflection of the decline of morality in the American citizenry and an increase in apathy about searching for the truth, reasoning  through the propaganda they are fed on a daily basis. Shear ignorance on the part of a dumbed down citizenry whose idea of morality is killing unborn babies in the name of women's health and having the government give them everything they want. We live in a nation of shallow hypocrites with no sense of reason or discernment of the facts, they for the most part simply swallow anything the liberal media shoves down their throats.

I agree with most of what you said but where are the decent people in our community and our government??? Are they part of the problem or the solution? Where are the educators, the clergy and the businessmen and the military and the law enforcement?

Why do you think the educators, the clergy, the businessmen, the military&the law enforcement are "the" decent people?Sure many are but probably 60% of them aren't "decent",just the same as the rest of the population who approves ofSlickWillie!

Very good point, we can't make any assumptions about groups any more.

He gets credit for the economic boom of the 1990s due to:
    * the internet starting with productivity gains that boosted the economy; he only gets credit for the end resulting faster growing economy
    * welfare reform and budget cuts that were forced by a Republican Congress over his objections that further boosted the economy after they passed

He is a very talented con man. He would be able to sell parachutes to the crew of a submarine. He is like a thin veneer of platinum over a land fill. Don't scratch it too hard.
