Why Vote When You Don't Have Good Options of individuals to choose?
In this wayward world of ways voting has now become a scam as there is not an option to choose good, as some individuals competing each other is the same in all bad aspect of ways, why vote when you don't have good option of individuals to choose ?
Whether you vote or not someone is going to win!
You might as well try to have a "say" with regard to the best available option from whatever choices we are stuck with.
Secondly I believe most people vote a political party's platform.
Very few "pro-life" anti- marriage equality people are going to vote for a liberal Democrat just as very few "pro-choice" Obamacare lovers, and people in favor of raising the minimum wage aren't going to vote Republican. Most people vote for party over a particular candidate.
Generally speaking the only time people consider voting for a candidate who opposes what they're in favor of on a lot of issues is when there is a national catastrophe or a horrible economy.
Blue states and red states pretty much remain the same. It's the "swing states" or "purple states" with their Independent voters that usually decide most presidential elections. (OH, PA, MI, FL, VA)
Lastly just because one isn't happy with the presidential candidates they shouldn't ignore the other candidates running for office in their state, city, county, or local community. Those people will have more of an impact on you the individual than someone sitting in the white house. It's been said: "All politics is local."
I don't do polics but I had to say something! Individuals should learn from the first promise, and everyone should decide not to vote, just make their voices known and ask for what they want instead of being fooled in what they would get.
"everyone should decide not to vote..."
That's not a democracy. The slogan during the Revolutionary War was "No taxation without representation."
People want the right to vote for their representatives.
Are you advocating giving up our rights?
dashingscorpio ! Of course not we should never give up our rights , but we should give up and dismantle the ways of the ignorant, it's time the tables turn and individuals say what it is they want meaningful things that will help develope the people.
dashingscorpio
The motto today should be
No Taxation with representation.
I have voted anti-Democrat/anti-Republican all my life. I used to tell people these very same things: Now I just tell them to arm themselves.
Hmm! Setank Setunk ? Well it sounds more like war you're describing, should voting be like that, no side ever seemed to be doing better so why does individuals continue to play the silly voting games?
War perhaps. We live under greater tyranny than the Colonists in 1775. Their victory was due to how well armed they were.
The colonists were fighting a foreign government! You are advocating fighting with your neighbors. Why don't you move to another country more to your liking?
Enough of the war Peace is so much needed instead, it's time that some individuals really look at their brother man and Lovingly care for them and their well being . Setank Setunk ....Yossarian
Yossarian - The colonists were all British citizens and were fighting the British government. Support for the war among the colonists was far from 100%. In many cases, neighbors were fighting neighbors.
The presidential election is only part of the vote. There are candidates running for other offices as well. Plus, there are usually important ballot questions to be decided.
Here in Massachusetts, the four questions on the ballot are regarding:
1) Additional slots-only casino license
2) Authorization of up to 12 new charter schools
3) Prohibit certain methods of farm animal containment
4) Legalize and tax recreational marijuana for individuals at least 21 years old
