George Yancy's letter: "Dear White America". Its about all of us everywhere. We all cannot be

free of racism or sexism because we live in a system called society. What went through your mind as you read "this letter"? To me no one can be purely this or that. We are all influenced whether we are conscious or unconscious of it. Maybe its time to start another kind of conversation? Where can we start?

The sentiment in the letter is neither new nor unique and I think it is significant that the same feelings expressed by a black author appear to have more meaning than when expressed by a white author. This clip is from "A Time to Kill". The movie based on the book written by John Grisham, who is white.

I didn't read it until your post, then I looked it up. That last paragraph will be very familiar when you watch the clip.
