How to develop a peaceful relationship between Indian and Pakistan?

Between India and Pakistan there is main unsolved conflict which is known as Kashmir, Kashmirs People claim to be a part of Pakistan, as there is a big population of Muslims, but India do the illegal military actions in Jammu & Kashmir to proof wrong their claim. This is a main cause or hurdle become between the peaceful relationship of India and Pakistan.

Pakistan needs to rein in the Muslim fundamentalists in its military who are aiding the Taliban and terrorist attacks in India and trying to take over Kashmir.
If Pakistan removes the religious fundamentalists in its military and stops supporting terrorism, then there things can calm down and the matter could be discussed peacefully.
But there won't be peace as long as there is a government branch fomenting hatred of the non-Muslim India, supporting violence against Hindu India for not being Muslim and calling for establishment of Shariah law over non-Muslims.

According to the international world,  Pakistan Army has conducted successful operations against militants without any discrimination of good and bad terrorist. Pakistan Army doesn't support any terrorist.

HI Ehtisham Khalid! How's it going?

There are no easy answers to your obviously heartfelt question. You are not likely to strike gold, as it were, here on the Internet.

Let me say that the 1948 partition of India was a tragedy. Yes, it is true that the now indigenous Muslim population was introduced through conquest (the Mughal regime, I believe?); but that was many centuries ago. The vast majority of Muslims living in then-India were just ordinary people, as it were.

What I mean to say is that the Indian Muslims were living in midst of Hindu Indians, basically wearing the same clothing, basically eating the same food, sharing the same basic national culture, listening to basically the same music, and so forth. The Muslims were at least as "Indian" as they were "Muslim."

The tragedy, from my point of view, was the failure to recognize this. This Othering of Muslim Pakistan and Hindu India is the result of this partition, this segregation, if you will.

It is a tragedy that the Muslims did not say NO to segregation and apartheid.

I am no expert in these affairs (and you are not likely to find one here on the Internet), but I believe the future for Hindus and Muslims is to reconnect, based on a rediscovered common Indian-ness.

In my opinion, only in this way can the Othering stop!

At the risk of sounding "squishy," sentimental, and New Age-y, let me say that: Only love can conquer fear!

    Thanks for the question!

    W.T.

@William you're absolutely that love conquers all, but personally I have lost hope that these our nations can ever have friendly and warm relations. As a respnsible nation n considering region stability, we have tried to reconcile but all in vain.

love conquer all the things but what about the lynching of Muslims in the name of eating a beaf of cows.Banning the beaf in India is a brutal act if it is a hindu belief so it has nothing to do with muslims as a result allow them to eat beaf

Let me be very upfront on this,  Kashmir is and will always remain an integral part of India and that's the sentiment shared by all Indians period

You buthchered Hindus on your soil and you talk of compassion, muslim brotherhood. Around the world the muslims in India are byfar the most peacful comparatively. As for Pakistan, it cannot handle its own muslims, who rage jihad on their own soil and are becoming a threat to the rest of the world. Why is it that world's most wanted terrorist find safe haven in Pakistan? A handful of Kashmiris led by so called seperatist have been inciting voilence in Kashmir through sleeper cells and paid agents all funded by Pakistan. Have you noticed that ever since India demonitized itz high value currency, no Kashmiris are seen protesting or stone pelting on the street, isn't it obvious that they are hired on daily wages?? The valley is calm for a change from the inside.

If you would be kind enough to answer me why your extremist groups keep infiltrating our border and get gunned down? Do you have any idea how many times has Pakistan violated the cease fire just this month alone? And just this week your coward Border Action Force ambushed one of our patrol and bheaded one of the soldiers. When retaliation happened you PM went crawling to UN, that is the level of you cowardice.

I personally dont support war as its not civilians that are to be blamed for what your govt dictated by military does, but then hate and anger amongst we Indians against Pakistan is on the rise especially in light of recent events. A fourth war with India will be total anihilation which Pakistan needs to understand. A debt laiden economy surviving on US aid and now Chinese you are on a due course to become a colony, with Trump taking over things are for sure gonna change and you better watch out your internal affairs!!!

Ashutosh, before you go blaming another group of people, look in your own backyard first boyo.  What was it that Khulbashan Yadav said.  India was fomenting terrorist activities in Pakistan (Balochistan and Karachi).

Usman, lets for once believe that Kulbhushan is a spy, what evidence does Pakistan has of his activities apart from a doctored tape which even ICJ rejected. Confession in custody doesn't amount to substantial evidence.
