Why do you think Donald Trump won the election
Was is because of the media or because he never lied and was straight up with us.
The media has some of your answer: they gave him "free advertising" by headlining his ridiculous statements; and, their printing of polls that made Hillary appear to be the "inevitable" winner (so why stand in long lines "just to cast another vote for her.")
But Hillary was her own worst ad, notably by appearing "above the law" and selfishly careless about the security of all Americans.
The appearance of a "drift toward socialism" under Democrats was a galvanizer for many Republicans and Independents.
Lastly, "weakness by association" saddled Hillary with the least likable aspects of Obama's tenure.
You seem to overlook what legitimately attracted voters to the proposals by President-elect Donald J. Trump, the real clincher.
He never lied? OK, then he changes his mind every 5 seconds then. Kakistocracy is what you got and you fully deserve the government you voted for if you voted for Trump.
In the battle for lesser of two evils, risk of kakistocracy defeated persistent catastrophy?
1) American got tired of being lectured by liberal elites
2) Trump and Wikileaks successfully discredited the corrupt liberal media establishment
3) Hillary personified the corrupt and smug elite class in Washington
4) The Democrats tried to push their radical leftist agenda too fast and too far. .ie politicizing race, radical transgender and gay agenda, importing Syrian refugees ect..
5) Trump appealed to the white working class while Clinton largely ignored them.
6) Most American believed that America was headed on a destructive trajectory and Hillary promised more of the same, while Trump promised a change of course.
At least in great part, he won because a majority of people in this country were tired of being dismissed and trampled on.
Another facet of the reason for his win is that news media personalities' hubris caused them to not only believe their own lies but they could not fathom that the American people had been paying attention and learned not to care what came from their foolish mouths.
We have to add the fact that he chose a successful governor as his running mate, showing that he wanted good advice, and then responded to complaints against him by toning down his blustery attitude and learning to present himself as more presidential, more respectful of the office he was seeking.
He continued to gain electoral and popular votes even after he became the president-elect because he seems to have listened to the USA's people and agreed with them. His choices for the future have yet to be seen so let's not forget to pray for him to continue being teachable, to remember why he was elected, and to remember the importance of all the decisions he will make.

So it's the final day. Let's be clear about the choice;Hillary Clinton is deeply unpopular. She may not be a nice person. There are so many negative reports about her, it is difficult to believe there is 'no smoke without fire.' However, some allegations are disproven, and most others are unproven...
