What benefit do Democrats see in obstructing Trump's Cabinet picks?
Using partisan politics, the Senate Democrats are delaying President Trump's Cabinet picks from taking office. Their slow-walking techniques are an embarrassment and unlikely to succeed in doing anything, yet they continue. Everyone expects the Supreme Court nominee to be treated equally when nominated. Democrats are boycotting hearings, using the rule that at least one person from the opposition be present for a committee vote to be valid.
They still can't believe they lost the election so are determined to make it as difficult as possible for President Trump.
This is very childish behavior on their part and tells us even more about why our government has become such a failure when it comes to accomplishments.
It is also showing us who some of our elected representative really are and why to not vote for them ever again.
It's exactly what Republicans did for the past eight years. It sucks when the tables turn, doesn't it?
Really, I don't seem to recall the Obama cabinet getting the same treatment - but then again Harry Reid and his nuclear option helped out - talk about regret
That nuclear option is the one and only thing we can thank Harry Reid for giving us.
thats right lisa. they have selective memory, as well as selective amnesia...thank the good lord for videotape! "i never said mushroom clouds" hahaha
Leslie, what in the world are you talking about now?
If Democrats can accomplish preventing anything good being done for this country it is their only goal and they have idiots like this pushing their agenda. What a nightmare!
same thing republicans did with obama...stop him in his tracks. surely, you have figured this out by now? you showed us the way!! and when WE said, what about us, who voted for obama? YOU said, "its repubs job to stop him". so honestly, i dont know what anyone is whining(your word too) about. your guy mitt romney said it, sauce for goose, sauce for gander. maybe if repubs get a dose of their own medicine, they wont be so quick to make us swallow it again. and no, not literally. *sigh*
That is a two way street that just keeps the country from moving forward and making life better for all of us.
no, its been a one-way street for too long.we were looking forward to a lot of things, too in 2008,only to be crushed by the wayside. you republicans can reap what you have sown.you hd 8 yrs of obstruction, and proud of it.now u find out how it feels
Your assuming I'm a Republican. Perhaps your wrong again. Tell us exactly what one good thing Obama was trying to do that he was stopped by the Republicans. He did most everything by EO anyhow.
Mike: BO has the fewest EO's in 100 years. Seems you are creative with facts
the amount of EO's wasn't the subject - it was what Obama did through EO's - perhaps you need to read his statement again just so you understand it instead of trying to spin it for Obama's legacy
oh, so youre against eo's? how many your guy have so far, 19??? more??? and whats he doing? whatever the f he likes, thats what. hes not asking anyone. spicer said its his agenda or get out. so tell me how you deride obama....please justify hypocricy
Leslie, that comment is not even worth an answer.
thats the attitide! and then expect respect in return...smh
I'm amazed how "holier than thou" the Republicans are trying to be now that their guy is in office. Now we should all come together in harmony? We didn't get a shred of that from them. But now they expect it. They are shameless.
The timing might be poor, but if this nation is to survive, then we need to all move closer to the center. What we are seeing now is the dangerous pendulum effect, which if unchecked will eventually fall off the rails
trump said hillary only won because 3 million illegals voted for her.cruz just now said democrats approve and support voter fraud....ITS OFF THE RAILS
Leslie, and you know for sure that is false based on what? Your neighbor told you so?
my neighbors are nice people. they dont listen to alex jones, limbaugh trash. and with the blood lust repubbies have for clinton, if this were true, shed be on trial. unlike ya boy dumpy, who can do whatever he wants...no oversight whatsoever. bums!
Leslie I'll ask again. What are the sources of your facts?
trumps own words, and cruz own words. i know people pretend to not get it,"see how stupid lmc is", but im was quoting them. trump said the three million illegals were hillary voters, cruz said democrats support voter fraud. both on national tv.slander
Perhaps they're hoping he might make better choices, and select some folks that aren't part of the Billionaire Boy's Club.
Or perhaps they're doing what their constituents are asking them to do, by phone, by email, by tweet, and by showing up at their offices: block these appointments, because they aren't qualified for the jobs for which they've been put forth.
Just because the Republicans hold a majority doesn't mean the Democrats should just lay back and take it. They have obligations to the folks who elected them.
perhaps they are just being sore losers, thinking that this feeble action will help them go back in time to win the election.....
oh its not feeble, its legion. you should get out more, you might see how we really feel about your sniff sniff. and this sham will be revealed. you have no idea the underworld this cat resides in. none. the p-grabbing should have given it away. gag
Didn't hear anyone calling protesting feeble when it was the Tea Party who was doing it...
Gag, didn't hear any left objections about Bill Clinton & his many escapades. He didn't just talk about it but did at every opportunity but you NEVER hear Dems mention that. It is just pitifully all the Dems have to fight with & wow do they r
mm, no, Elaine L. Chao, of Kentucky, to be Secretary of Transportation passed nomination today 93-Yea, 6-no.
There goes your theory.
Once the entire cabinet is confirmed you can attempt to lecture me on my theory.....
Elaine Chao. Wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a paltry millionaire, worth a mere $22 million.
i read her family is in the international drug trade.
They are following the examples they saw across the aisle every single day for eight years. Now the Republicans don't like it any better than the Democrats did. At least the Democratic President was a decent man.
Your opinion of the former President isn't shared by everyone. Most of what Obama wanted, he got - and in hindsight, most of what he got was bad for America. His legacy is debt, unemployment, and a failed foreign policy which gave nukes to Iran..
lies. but what else is new.one thing will be a hollow victory--when trump voters lose the healthcare and foodstamps they rely on. let them go without gvt.let trump business take care of them. he wont even know your NAME.
Once again Leslie, where are you getting this stuff from? Who said your going to lose your food stamps?
i said trump voters will lose theirs...as well as their aca. as much as right wing demonized obama, he cared about all americans....the trumpites will feel the pain the most. imo
Leslie you not only wont lose anything, you will gain. Healthcare will be cheaper and better for one thing. Even Obama admitted that ACA had some problems that needed fixing. Wait and see awhile before you wear out the panic button.
We can only hope that the ACA goes away and we move toward a plan that actually works and doesn't just feed the fat cat friends of Obama who developed the broken websites
The days for cabinet for past presidents:

The U.S. economy added 250,000 jobs in October and the unemployment rate held steady at 3.7 percent, according to Labor Department figures released Friday. Once again the numbers are stronger than estimates; Economists had predicted the economy would add 190,000 jobs and the unemployment rate...

when I went to a private club/restaurant that we belong to. All of them voted for Obama, but none are happy with him. One wants Hillary to challenge him in 2012, two said they'd vote dem in 2012 if someone other than BO is running, one is definitely voting Republican in 2012, and two have...

What do you think about President Obama so far?People blame the President when the US Congress that is controlled by the Republicans is really screwing over America. How anyone could support the so called Tea Party is beyond me. They really don't care about the average American. They are only...
