Is the Berkeley 'Step Up Housing Initiative' really about helping the homeless, or greed?
City Council member Ben Bartlett has proposed a micro-unit development to house the homeless. However, he also sees this "as a billion-dollar business". So is this greed, or philanthropy?

There are many projects that make a nice profit off public programs, as the bankrupt green energy companies demonstrate.
And giving them "Housing" doesn't solve the underlying problems that led to homelessness like drug addition and mental illness. But building a new version of public housing and then leaving it to deteriorate after pocking the money for building it is an easy way to make money AND virtue signal.
