So the other day I was walking through Trenton NJ. neighborhood , then NYC central park , after that  I was in Chicago's south side  when I left there and arrived in L.A.  ,  I too heard screaming , but it was the victims of MS -13 gangs raping , knifing , beating , drug running  and human trafficking deals gone bad , or was it the MS -13 porn and sex trades at full  throttle  ?

    I'm not worried though , I hear that they can't read .

The existence of one social problem does not negate the importance of addressing another. By your reasoning an imperfect world implies we should do nothing. Ever.

Border crossing DEATHS  rise 17 % in the first quarter of this year alone 2108 ,according to "The Guardian "  , what exactly does it take for liberals to gain real empathy for these tragic deaths , crimes ,  separations ?
Instead that is , of "selective outrage "of instant identity politics .  Do you have ANY clue how many have died  crossing the southern borders over the years ?

It's a risk they take. It makes a loud statement about how great those country is. People will do anything to get here.

Especially when they fear for their lives and for their children's safety as well. Does that make a difference to you?

I just read an article pushing your side of the argument. One thing I did notice is that it was clear to the immigrants what the policy was and they moved forward anyway. Some had compelling reasons. But, this problem is presented, from the left, as if we are sending forces over the border to steal children for separation.

But it comes back to this, for me. Liberals whine when any attempt is made to deport criminals who are here illegally. Liberals bemoan the fact that people grieve over murders committed by illegals. Liberals refuse to back actions to protect law abiding citizens and do not complain when a sanctuary city hides a dangerous felon.Liberals have no sympathy for fear of the growing violence from illegal immigrant gangs.

If we leave it to the liberals we may end up like the nation's those people don't want to stay and build a better society in. Cartels and gangs terrorizing our citizens.

Offer a compromise. Force Congress to offer a fair and equitable compromise on immigration representing an enforceable and reasonable policy. I find liberal ideology on this as foolish as conservative ideology on abortion. No forethought. No afterthought.  It is unsustainable in the long run.

I would have to say it is more about how bad it is where they were, and their perception of how good it is here.

A lifetime of watching over your shoulder for cops, of sneaking around the laws, of forever being confined to low wages, barely able to feed a person, of forever being at the bottom of the totem pole...this is reality, a reality that they either don't recognize or refuse to see.

I agree. But life is possible here. Fear trumps death. I'm a firm believer in the idea of moving borders to reflect the success of a government in building peaceful society. If millions are moving north. Move borders south. Eventually choke out the problem.

You're losing me.  Are you suggesting conquering Mexico to move our border south?

Can't be done, of course. But look at the world. Millions fleeing countries everywhere. I'm tired of stable democracies having to clean up the mess of tyrants and corruption.

Personally , I'd far rather give Mexico southern  Californika in a immigration trade , Keep your criminals ---we'll give you ours.

Yes!  I'm sick and tired of it, too!

It seems that these people have decided that someone else must clean up their mess - that freedom and a reasonable life isn't worth the blood necessary to buy it, at least if it's their blood.  Sometimes I think the best solution is to airlift and drop a million guns into those areas and then sit back and wait.  The problem, of course, is that bigger and stronger nations are using smaller, weaker ones as a battlefield to extend their power and those small nations can no more win the conflict alone than we could in 1776.

Sometimes I think the 1776 of today is just our  survivability as a nation in this time of [social] media feeding frenzy and the left's wish for  self destructing the  U.S.?

Honestly? Guns are already being air lifted throughout the world. The arms manufacturers are getting rich at the expense of the defenseless. That is a non solution.
