Jaisaan Lovett graduated from University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men as the valedictorian last month, with a full scholarship to Clark Atlanta University. However, he was not allowed to speak at the school's graduation ceremony. The Principal at first wouldn't say why, but it's been discovered that it was because he had multiple "run-ins" with school administration over the years. In one instance last year, he led a five-day student strike when he said the school wouldn't order needed safety equipment for a lab.
Does this smell of vindictiveness ? A school administrator gone too far ? Thoughts ?
As I understand it from multiple articles, the valedictorian planned to badmouth the administrator in his speech.
A valedictorian speech at a school graduation is no place for petty, immature revenge. So I wouldn't let him speak either.
I hadn't heard that part - thanks for adding critical details
IN any other situation liberals would lament the dissing of ANY valedictorian silenced ---he must be an avowed conservative .
Free speech ?
Why do you always jump to the conclusion that any conflict is a liberal-caused situation. I viewed three different news sources, including USA Today, NBC, and even Fox news and they all tell the same story, which seems to be a personal vendetta from a principal who had a beef against a Black student (could this principal be a Conservative racist?) Jaisaan Lovette says that the principal is a guy who can't stand to be told "no." He doesn't even claim racism or liberal-conservative conflict. Check it out and see how wrong you are.

From Fox: "I think it was personal between Jaisaan and the principal, which is why there is no reason," she said. ("She" is the mayor}
Lovett once protested the safety conditions of a school lab, according to NBC 4 New York.
You people amaze! Have any of you gotten past the 6th grade?
Sorry, Randy, I wasn't sure who that "Doh" was aimed at. If you didn't deserve it, I take it back.
No problem, Doris. It wasn't meant for your comment at all.
