People are evacuating now in coastal areas of North Carolina and South Carolina and surrounding states. Hoping people affected might post something here as Hurricane Florence approaches.

They are probably pretty busy as the hurricane approaches but you might like to know that the evacuation plan for SC was altered and some mandatory orders were lifted for a few counties, probably those closer to the Georgia/Florida coasts. There are reports of many deciding to risk staying in Charleston, meaning they own the consequences.

Yes, evacuees could face worse conditions as they flee the coast, if the storm stalls inland. There are so many worst case scenarios people are talking about on the weather channel news. Would be good to hear from anyone affected, but posting here is probably not a priority. Thanks!

I think Raleigh will be safe ,  staying high from flooding that is ,  gonna be a lot of rain  , just stay out of the lowlands , stock up on supplies .

Now emergency personnel are risking their lives going into dangerous territory to try to rescue those who would not evacuate. Many of those who refused to heed the warnings spent the night on rooftops because it was too dangerous for everyone to attempt a rescue until today.
