According to President Trump, he's now building the wall in Colorado.

    He said this.

I thought his statement about Meryl Streep was stupid, but this one is actually more stupid. I'm pretty sure most 5th graders know that Colorado doesn't border Mexico.

Our President apparently doesn't know that Colorado DOESN'T border Mexico.

Is he stupid or did he say it on purpose?

Republicans apparently don't know geography, so I'd say he's just stupid. Remember when President Reagan, a Republican, said that Arkansas was just a ... state somewhere between Texas and Oklahoma? I used the ellipsis because I don't remember what his description was, but it was disparaging. I guess the next president showed him where Arkansas was.

At least Reagan was close. This has to rank among the stupidest things any President has ever said.

Psssstttt, his defenders don't care how dumb, incompetent, or dishonest he is. Only us silly people think a president should know stuff.

          Amazing though, isn't it?

I was just discussing this with a colleague. Would it be possible in any universe for a smart person to say something like that.

Even my own children know that Colorado does not border Mexico (and they're 8 and 10). I'm sorry, but only an idiot would ever say something like that. Anyone who could excuse that statement does simply not value intelligence.

I've given up on them. All we can do now is beat them at the ballot box. This statement is small potatoes compared to the long list of truly disgusting lies, unhinged behavior, and horrible policies.

If anybody said that in your presence, you'd write them off as a moron, right?

I'd feel sorry for them because of their lack of education. They might be a moron or they might be uneducated. Either way, they should not be occupying the White House.

As a native Arkansan, I took it personally that a supposedly educated person from California should know his geography before becoming president. But he was just an actor and a Republican, so I guess we can't expect anything better from Trump either. Look at the likes of candidate Palin and veep Quayle. And Gov. Ann Richards said that George W. Bush was born "with a silver foot in his mouth."

He's tired. That's why he made the comment about Kansas benefiting. Colorado will benefit is what he meant ... It was a goof and he didn't want to own up to it ... because ... he is Trump!
          Can't a man be tired?

Sure, but if a man is tired all the time maybe he needs to see a doctor. ;-)

I don't understand your answer. When did he say anything about Kansas? Crankalicious was asking about his Colorado statement that Colorado would benefit from the wall at the Mexico border. If he did make a statement about Kansas that I missed, how is either Kansas or Colorado going to benefit? Neither are on the border.

I realize that I'm recuperating from a stroke, but it appears that some other people are worse off than I am.

Apparently Trump was right. Here's the U.S. map he was using.

Haha. In his great and unmatched wisdom he has awakened us lowly peasants to the realization that calling it "New Mexico" doesn't make it any less Mexican, drug-crazed, criminal, and rape-prone (except for a few, I assume, good people).

*Trump, satisfied, deeply inhales the sweet intoxicating fumes of a fine-point Sharpie and leans back to admire his map as visions of a big, beautiful wall begin to take shape along the untamed Colorado border*
