A challenge for all investigative journalists-How many people working for the social security agency are denied disability benefits?  How many people working for social security have their cases reviewed?  My guess is none.  How many people working for social services are denied services?  My guess is none.  Anyone up to the challenge of finding out?  Do it for the 27 year old diabetic who died because he had to ration his insulin.  My guess is he was denied benefits from social security-I am certain no one working for social security was denied benefits and medicare to pay for their insulin.  I am convinced that these people are not working for the agency because they are more capable of others, I am certain they work their because they enjoy denying benefits to those who need it and causing early deaths and death from very manageable disease.  It is time to go after the true corruption in this country. The people working for these agencies giving to themselves, their relatives and their friends while others who need it are denied, harassed and made to provide proof, after proof after proof that makes it difficult to receive the benefits deserved and keep the benefits entitled to.  Who can find the stats and who can write the article???  Any takers??

...and while we're at it, why don't we investigate the way states run condo communities?  They take many rights away from owners without their knowledge until it's too late and give far too much power to boards.  It's a disgrace!

I believe there is a lot of truth to that.  My sister applied for renewal of her food stamps.  She filled out the form wrong and was denied.  She was not told she filled out the form wrong or how to fill it out properly.  She was just denied.  I have had the same type of thing happen to me.  I have had my medicare savings plan taken away from me, but my insurance advocate got it back.  I am having them do it again.  The government benefit agencies are not your friend.  I have known senior citizens who needed their food stamps have them taken away.  People who obviously need disability, it takes years and they have to get a lawyer in order to get it.

Google Scholar is a good source of stats for all kinds of issues. Picking up on just one point in the original post, here is search related to insulin:

Don't be intimidated by the academic format. You only have to read the abstract (summary) and the conclusions for the most part. Dig in when you reckon you have found the info you need.

Sadly, many published papers are behind a paywall, and all you will get is the abstract. There is a major push to make all papers publicly available and things are improving but it can still hold researchers back.

You "guess" this and are "certain" of that.  You are "convinced" of this and assume that.  Then you want someone else to do the work to prove your vast conspiracy and corruption theory is correct.

That's not really how it works; rather than guessing, do the work and prove your own theory.  Present it with the data you find, showing proof that others can check.

Then you won't have to guess, and when you're "certain" you will actually know that you are correct.

      Well there is that... lol.

I am more of an encouraging, rather than discouraging type.

Sorry, misleading post from me. You are right to suggest some rigor from the beginning, and you managed to say it in a non-critical, non-discouraging way.
