Trump tells evangelicals, 'We have God on our side' for 2020 election; hails end of Soleimani’s 'bloody rampage'

    So many questions....

First one: Why is this megachurch, which is clearly engaging in political activism, tax-exempt?

For the same reason the Catholic church, 10,000 times it's size and also engaged in political activism on a daily basis, is tax-exempt.  It fits the legal definition of a church.

Or, if it doesn't, we leave it to you to start the process of removing it from that designation.  It has not, after all, jumped on the "TRUMP IS EVIL" bandwagon; that should be enough to disqualify it in the eyes of any liberal judge.

Well, I have always felt churches above a certain size should not be tax exempt. This is just a blatant example of why.

Churches have always been places where candidates have gone to supporters historically. That's not new. A more important question is should God be denied citizenship, since He is global, thusly making Him ineligible to vote? Is He an illegal immigrant? lol.

God has chosen Trump, remember? Christians have found their savior.

Panther, with the disastrous consequences, internationally, of Trump's short sighted foreign policy, the title "Anti-Christ" may well be fitting.

I hope to simply call him "gone" in 2020.

We were taught all about the anti-Christ in my former church. The one thing the church didn't teach was that the anti-Christ had to be a religious leader; we just took that for granted. Occasionally someone would mention that Hitler might have been an antiChrist but people couldn't seem to agree. Now that we have a second example, perhaps we should look at it more seriously.

True. Savior of Israel and all that. Everyone can claim He's on their side. He's on mine right now.

I did some research on the tax-exempt status of churches because at one time I belonged to a Southern Baptist Convention Church, which is another of the big real-estate-holding religious bodies of the world. I wish I could find those sources now, but it seems that the laws don't apply to churches' for-profit business dealings, and they pay taxes on them just like any corporation does or should. Perhaps someone with better knowledge could enlighten us.

I would agree.  When churches run businesses for profit, and when they control more wealth than any other "business" on the planet, they cannot be considered a non-profit.  IMHO.

Churches in general should never be tax exempt, money comes from the world and as Yeshua stated about ataxes "Never the less humour them"

Matthew 17:24-27 New International Version (NIV)
      The Temple Tax
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”

25 “Yes, he does,” he replied.

When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?”

      26 “From others,” Peter answered.

“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

So basically, IF God is backing you, He will also provide the 'taxes' they demand.

What is this madness? Someone help me regain a little faith in mankind:

Paula White, Trump's religious adviser, speaking in tongues
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgZvzc4Pgmo

My personal stance is that any church that allows for political commentary or political action should lose their tax-exempt status.

At first, I couldn't get past the concept of  "Trump's religious advisor." Once I collected myself from the nearly uncontrollable laughing fit, I clicked on your link. All was lost after that. My husband asked me if I was okay. I replied that, no, I'll never recover from watching a video of Trump's religious advisor speaking in tongues. Never!

        Ahem.     Oh. My. Gawd.

[Reaches for shot of Maker's Mark offered by husband with look of bemused concern]

I'm glad I'm not the only one that had that reaction (some faith in humanity restored)! Thanks! It's something to behold...

I'd go for a shot of whiskey too, but it's not even 9 a.m. here yet. Haha.
