After promoting this solution, why have Fox News and President Trump suddenly stopped recommending this common malaria drug to treat COVID-19?

Isn't now the time to really push it as we open up our economy?

Also, if you took Hydroxychloroquine, how did it work for you?

My wife takes it...for her arthritis.  Hasn't been on it long enough to tell anything yet, though.  big_smile

Good one! I am glad it was available for her.

They wouldn't give her very much, certainly not the 3 months worth the doctor wanted.  But she got enough to work with for a short time, maybe enough to see if it helps.

I'm glad she was able to get a supply, what with all the interest in it as a therapy for Covid-19. It looks like the New York trial was a faliure, so perhaps things will calm down and the drug will be more easily available for people with conditions that really need it.

Well, I would hate to see it fail as a Covid cure, but at the same time, if it works for my wife I want her to have it.

There was only a slight hope that it might be an effective treatment in the first place, and now the trials aren't turning out well.  They've tried it on some patients in Australia as well, without success, though we have very low numbers here so the trials probably aren't statistically significant.

Well, it's my understanding that no true study has been made; that the "trials" are little more than doctors trying something in desperation.  Anecdotal evidence, albeit it on a larger scale than a few people trying it.

So there is still some hope, but it is fading.

Saw a bunch of Fox News clips where they were claiming "Lazarus" like results. They and Trump have chilled a bit the last few days though.

I think the Doc in the link you provided has filed a whistleblower complaint.

And on Fox News, I believe if was Tucker Carlson, had a guy on who he claimed was associated with Stanford Medical. The guy was claiming 100% success with hydroxychloroquine.

Only the guy had no relationship to Stanford and nobody even knows who he is.

So that's the kind of "news" one gets from Fox.

Then there's the issue of Fox promoting a relaxing of social distancing rules and generally downplaying the whole epidemic while, behind the scenes, instituting all kinds of rules for their business so their people didn't get sick.

Indeed, Brian Kemp. the gov. of my state was sorta chastised by Donald, even though Donald was pushing for states to reopen.

I'm following my regular quarantine efforts for a few weeks until the guinea pigs--Trump believers--indicate the results from the reopening.
