According to the Kansas City Star and Charlotte Observer, Derek Chauvin may be eligible for a million dollar pension even if convicted for the death of George Floyd. These papers stated that according to CNN analysis, Chauvin could get $ 50,000 annually if he decided to receive a pension at 55 which would amount to $1.5 dollars over 30 years. Your thoughts?
I don't like the idea of him receiving a pension after murdering someone on the job. But, if there is no law against it, I doubt it can be denied to him. Unless maybe the judge could include conditiins in sentencing, maybe require him to donate all or most of it to Black Lives Matter or some other nonprofit?
Our law enforcement and fire fighter people deserve a decent pension after reasonable terms of service. That, is of coarse, a wash if one is terminated for cause for gross misconduct and I think that would definitely apply to Mr. Chauvin.
I want a total rehaul of most police departments, neutralizing the unions that put up the "blue line" for which so much misconduct is swept under the rug. It turns out that Chauvin has been in compromising positions like this several times in the past.
I am not for elimination of police, but desire a great deal of reform as to the standard operation procedures for how they do their job.
Totally agree w/you Credence2. The police department needs to be reformed & cleansed of undesirable elements. There are those in the police department who have ties to white extremist groups. We don't need those type of people in the police department.

This was a static from 2014. 71% is a large number I don't care if the were 250 million people on earth. Police deaths from aggressive force is too many
