This reminds me of quite a few people on these forums. Have a nice Sunday everyone.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzDhm808oU4

People are going to want to point out one particular instance from this video.

One of the top comments onYoutube puts things into perspective

“Think about this: think about how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half of 'em are stupider than that.” George Carlin

Political ideologues are, by their own admissions, often the easiest to manipulate; especially easy is manipulating them into anger in the long-term.

Does this mean people on the outside, the outliers, are innocent?

Absolutely not, and I'd point out this passive aggressive post here on the forums as an example of outliers being equal in their silliness. By its own nature, this post is contributing just as much to the perceived stupidity as those it is criticizing.

So I pose the question in lieu of the answer already:

How do you advise we, as Americans, enrich our political system so as to benefit all life as a whole? Realistically, of course, not from a place that only panders to one side and would only create more of the same problems.

An ironic post, and I laughed.

That was a funny video. I wonder how many interviews landed on the editing room floor because they didn't fit the narrative?

However, it is just one more example of the idiots among us. Carlin nailed it.

I'm pretty sure quite a few never made it. What I find funny is that it is these folk that think they are better than everyone else around them.

I've not seen people go around making these kinds of videos in other countries, it would be nice to see what happens in other places and probably learn a bit about them too. Live to Learn does not want to link out to those though, asking for them is an ego issue apparently. The only other time I have seen highly educated people be foolish is about the Brexit issue where they voted based on "feelings" not even opinions.

I can assure you, in other countries similar interview questions with similar intentions and similar results do exist.

Two expamples, not necessarily with political background (one in german, one in russian). But to scan for this kind of videos, you have to leave the English language cage.

However i find it always striking how Americans display self esteem without any background. They can´t have invented IMHO. Because that includes the word humble.

Please, don´t take my comment too serious.

Thanks! I'll check out the German one. I wasn't looking for something political.

      Flabbergasted.

Of course, this kind of stuff is edited, as is everything. And you can say it's made with a bias. True. But so is everything.
I recently saw an interview with Bush Jr. - And I wasn't a fan of him. But OMG, compare Trump with Bush jr. (just to take the same party) and you know who is president worthy and who is out of his dept.
Thanks to people like the ones in the video, cultivated over time, Trump was able to win the presidency.
Reminds me of the film Idiocracy...

It's a comedy sci-fi. That sets as a premise that all the people with a low IQ have a lot of children and intelligent people don't have any. Evolution theory dictates that more stupid people are born and intelligent people die out. In the end, you end up with a society ruled by incredibly stupid people....
          To close for comfort....

Yep. The film was made in 2006, so this is before Fake news and Trump bias. This documentary can be seen as a trusted source and truthful.
              A real paradigm shift.

I've seen youtube videos from all over the world that show people seemingly ignorant and uninformed, from both sides of what we call the aisle.

We see what we want to reinforce our individual biases.

The trick is to not allow our egos to cloud the fact that forces are attempting to manipulate our opinions. And, of course, don't judge others by a momentary blurb on a you tube video. That should be obvious but with the mobs in full swing I thought it beared repeating.

Nothing wrong in me saying that it reminds me of a lot of people here. It does not point to Trump or whatever, it shows that there are people who do not know the alphabet yet believe they've written and published the best selling novel.

P.S: Could you share some of those that you've seen? I love some good comedy.

I'm not posting video of real people for derision and ridicule. I've got better things to do and I think it is rude to laugh at others.

That's a pity. It's just that videos of such caliber have not come to my notice from other countries. People with an education and who should know better that is.

Maybe you work really hard to maintain your place in your echo chamber. I don't know. I try to watch a lot from around the world. I don't have to agree with what's said or laugh at people.
