Amen . . . and. . . Awomen . . .

"Rep. Emanuel Cleaver delivered the opening prayer as the U.S. House began a new session Sunday. He ended his prayer with the words “Amen and ‘A-woman,’” a pun he said was intended to recognize the record number of women serving in the new Congress. "

"Cleaver told KCTV5 his “a woman” line was just a lighthearted pun considering the record number of women in congress.

“With that kind of gender and inclusion in the Congress, the most diverse Congress in history, I ended my prayer by saying ‘a woman,” he said."

This stuff is just too funny. Especially so when it rates national media attention. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and accept his explanation, (too bad his mask hid his mischievous smile ROFLMAO), as I note how 'tone deaf' an unfunny this guy is. Even accepting his explanation—it was the wrong place and wrong time for such an effort.

But . . . I wouldn't doubt there are some that took him seriously and applauded him for his PC courage. Hmm . . . How do you indicate "they" as a plural? I would have said "they applauded him," but wanted to indicate more than one. (LOL somebody stop me, I'm killing it!)

However, to be fair, (and to support my status as an equal-opportunity offender), this also had me rolling on the floor:

"Newt Gingrich tweeted “‘Amen and awoman.’ perfect House Democrat prayer ending as House Dems focus on gender security by abolishing virtually every normal gender term like “father. Mother “-the radical madness has begun-Kevin McCarthy for Speaker!”"

You go Newt! Somebody has to fight the good fight.

You have never witnessed me posting so few words.  I so agree with Gingrich's sentiment.
