Apparently, the GOP is going to try and argue the case that school opening delays should be a reason to elect them in the 2022 midterms.

1.)  Apparently, they think Americans are idiots who haven't seen them obstruct resources for the states and schools that will help them get open safely and in a more timely manner.
2.)  As they rail against teachers receiving vaccines until every senior citizen gets one, they want to put teachers back into classrooms without first getting vaccinated.  Teachers and parents understand that message very clearly - you are fine endangering the lives of our country's teachers.
3.)  After a year where much of the GOP stood behind Trump as he fought against the simplest of mitigation recommendations from his own CDC, not sure anyone will believe the GOP to be sincere in regards to a stance on Covid.

As shown in the photo, Biden's plan gives significantly more support to schools and states.  Do you think this attempt to create a false reality of them being more fundamentally equipped to help schools open safely and more expediently is a smart strategy for the GOP?

I don't have a thought—yet, about the GOP arguing against itself, but I do have one on teacher vaccinations; I think the teachers should have the same priority as First Responders and Healthcare workers. Seems like common sense to me. And it would probably be cheaper and safer than all the school modifications they are trying to establish to mitigate virus transfer.

I totally agree with that stance.  Getting kids back to schools will help households return to some sense of normalcy.

Do you feel grocery workers should be vaccinated before teachers? They have worked through the pandemic. Teachers have not had the need to be in the classrooms and put in situations that put them in daily contact with large amounts of people. Many states have not addressed their sacrifice. Feb 16, 2021

I would appreciate it if you would have a look at the thread I started on this very subject. I followed  "science",  and what they recommended.  My thread does have a political overtone, which I found necessary to add. But, I did my homework on the science of should teachers be vaccinated before many others... I would be interested in your thoughts on the science bit.  From a medical point of view, I want those with morbidities no matter what age vaccinated first. This is not altogether happening in some states.

Treating grocery store workers as front line workers is also common sense.
