The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reportedly removed statistics on defensive gun use in the United States following pressure from gun control advocates.

The stats sourced from a CDC-commissioned study finding that instances of defensive gun use occur between 60,000 and 2.5 million times per year. References to that study were deleted from the site following private meetings with gun control advocates in 2021

The CDC reportedly did not consult the study's author, Florida State University emeritus professor Gary Kleck prior to removing his study.

"CDC is just aligning itself with the gun-control advocacy groups," Kleck told the outlet. "It’s just saying: ‘we are their tool, and we will do their bidding.’ And that’s not what a government agency should do."

We know what has happened in history, when citizens have no guns to defend themselves from the Government. Only in my space, I manage with no guns.

When the guns come for you, you may not manage so well.

I trust more that American citizens carrying 10 times more guns than their US Military complex. Personally by stats I would be less likely to kill myself not owning a gun. Or shooting someone I know vs. a burglar.  Plus far far more likely to die of some disease than by a gun. From world tour travels and working in law enforcement, I've confronted plenty of guns without a gun. And much safer,  not having a gun on me. Its plrobably why I'm alive and here today. Along with  not living in an area where its full of guns and it's like high noon all the time.

This in no respect surprises me. This CDC is an arm of the Biden White House as is the DOJ, FBI, you name it.

CDC is just aligning itself with the gun-control advocacy groups, it's clear we have liberals making the decisions in the CDC. I have zero respect for this agency, but I have for many decades.

This Administration is dangerous, very much have their thumbs in every pie. The overreach is so obvious. Not sure many Americans really care, or maybe they are oblivious to what is going on.

So glad you posted this, I was going to post it. I think these kinds of overreaches need to be realized by the general public. So, much falls through the cracks.

Not surprised by any move made by the radicalized CDC.

I find it interesting that the statistics they removed dealt with "defensive" gun use.

Millions of times each year people in the United States are able to use guns to defend themselves against criminals.

This puts legal gun ownership into proper perspective.

I will never understand why the left is afraid of people being able to defend themselves.  Yes, crazy people get possession of a gun and do horrible things.  This is nothing when compared to the millions of lives that are saved each year by responsible gun ownership.

All together a tool design to kill,  like a gun is an oxymoron for intelligence.  Do think, if a citizen can not defend themselves from their Government guns, because fire must fight fire in the security code. It's better to stay away from that kind of fire.
