We have the habit of being a free people. Take freedom away for certain and you will see something else.

    Thank Goodness for freedom!

~  the freedom we still have.
and that is an issue ...

    undeniably.

    For instance:
Today, in childhood, the child is taught in a tyrannical way. He is not given freedom. Furthermore, his freedom is taken away too soon. A young child should have a carefree, happy childhood until at least six years of age, otherwise he will not sense his own inner feedback, will not tune into his joy of life and will shut down and become overly obedient. He will resist instruction, and even the wisdom of his elders, parents and teachers. He will become obsessed with finding happiness in a way which represents some type of freedom.

    Today that freedom is anarchy.

"I will follow no rules, I will listen to no one. I will do as I please even if it means hurting others in violent outbursts." This is happening! Youth clobber older whiter folks for nothing! Social media encourages it! The internet has ruined America and indeed the entire civilized world where the personal computer is used.

What if Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had never been born?

On the other hand, what would the economy look like if the electrical grid was taken down down? What if an AI could do such a thing? After all, they are being programmed to destroy humanity, we hear. This topic is taboo, isn't it. Like talking about nuclear war.
    Sorry.

If you compare our society to the life in the novel/movie, The Road, we are doing really well! How can we prevent economic collapse, homelessness, drug use/deaths, violence, stupidness, ignorance and the wish for the fall of America through socialism/Marxism and civil war.

How can we fix the country?
        Seems we are stumped.
Good thing we are not running for President.

You're welcome. The buck never lands at the lay person table.

The weird thing is that we have the worst possible president and the economy is really not as bad as one thinks or is told.

If the price of gas goes up we still drive our cars all over the place, all the time.
If the price of lumber goes up we still build new homes.
If the price of homes go up there are plenty of people waiting in line for those homes.
If people don't want to work, they don't seem to feel stressed enough to seek employment.
The beaches are full of happy people who apparently don't have to work weekends!
    Etc.

    Life goes on.
And we always seems to land on our feet just fine.

Does our success depend on the president?
    If not, what else?

Well, I have already explained that it is a free society where people are happily trying to survive. The urge to survive is what is driving the economy and fueling the middle class.

The urge to survive is based on life itself, the pursuit of happiness and opportunities to contribute to society, while feeding and caring for our loved ones.

The greatest threat to our ability to survive and live well is socialism which seeks to control citizens rather than let them control themselves. Without self-guided free will, an individual has no purpose to live. After all, "The will is to the psyche what the heart is to the body."

Its not rocket science, and yet the youth want to change things in a "progressive" manner. They do not value what has been established.
Yes, the youth want change in every generation, but this time, the youth have been indoctrinated by schools beginning in elementary school. They have been told how bad America is, how bad its leaders have been, how bad our society is ... and that we need to change for the sake of equity and equality of outcome; That they will never amount to anything and have been labeled as incapable, weak and stupid.

If we are to change anything toward a positive direction, it needs to be on a psychological level. We need to teach our greatness and the basis for our success as a nation and as people, rather than the opposite.

The youth came to be here and enjoy life, not be labeled, tyrannized and corrupted.

This is where I would begin, if I were president:
    With the parents and teachers.
I think I would just talk to them via the radio.

In what other ways can we reach or positively influence / assist our parents, teachers and the hard working middle class?

    There are many, many many.
Abiding by The US Constitution is a good place to start.

Freedom, in the final analysis, is the most important thing.
    Some want ever-increasing freedom.
But others want to protect freedom.

Freedom requires boundaries or it becomes a detriment. Too much freedom becomes no freedom.

And then there are boundaries where there should be freedom.

Setting public policy requires an understanding of what gives freedom and what takes it away.

    It is subtle and tricky.

In a democracy we have the freedom to decide.
Decide well or not, time is the proof of whether the policy was effective or detrimental.

And it can always be changed.

It's past the 'good morning' hours. It's noon time now. But I was ruminating on my feed...migrating to other hubpages sites, and reading other authurs articles of yester years.                                               A very good afternoon to you, Kathryn. And have a nice time.
