A Couple of Questions --- What do these stats tell you?
Do the historic numbers concern you?
Do you feel we will see a major Terrorist attack on US soil?
Does it concern you that many more entered the US as mere gotaways?
Can you dance around these stats, and justify the increase?
Good questions! Thanks for the recommended article, Sharlee. I skimmed stopping here and there to read. One thing that caught my attention with one graphic was for 2022 & 2023 that most terror watchlist hits are at the northern border. 2023 stood out. Going back to 2017 three of the five years it was the same coming at the northern border. That gives me pause as to why.
One could play the numbers game doing research to get the percentage per year of total apprehensions vs. those caught on the watch list to get another perspective, yet not needed to understand there is a rising trend.
Yes, the number concern me as it should anyone. I would have to flip a coin about a terrorist attack on our soil from someone who came across the border.
From a peek here and there the bulk of terror attacks in the US is either unafilliated, the Earth Liberation Front, Animal Liberation Front, or anti-abortion crowd. That is for the years of 1970 - 2013. I couldn't find anything more recent. I did find a source showing terrorist attacks beginning with 1835 - Jan, 2023 that I skimmed.

Gotaways? A good question. Of all crossings on Biden's watch 18% are gotaways. Again, for me of least, to gain perspective I would do the numbers game. So, for now, again, I would flip a coin to answer that question while maintaining, that, yes I am concerned.
7.5 million encounters nationwide
6.2 million at southern border
1.7 million gotaways
Thus, a total of 9.2 million border crossings
So, we get that 1.7 million is 18% of all

Using those numbers while thinking that most of the terror watchlist hits of border crossing catches is the northern border give me pause again. Why?
I like to dance. It is good exercise isn't it? Justify? One may simply say as the base number goes up the correlating numbers follow along. Its the same with manufacturing. With increased production defect count goes up too. So, to me, the question falls upon how in the hell are we going to inhibit those who to come to the U.S. much less catch them at the border once there.
I would like to add I do have faith in the Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Control. I mean how in the hell do they even come up with who to put on the watchlist to begin with. Amazing to me. The FBI too in actually preventing terrorist attacks.
Is it at all remotely possible that our apprehension efforts have improved .and therefore the number of apprehensions has risen? Does it concern you that in 2017 there were only 2 apprehensions? How many got away or weren't apprehended in 2017? That's partly rhetorical because I don't think we can know the answer to that question. Therefore I'm not sure what these stats really prove except we are catching more terrorists on the border now than before and that seems like it would be a good thing.
Although DHS says this:
“The increase in encounters of individuals on the terror screening data set are largely commensurate with the increased flow to the border more broadly,” a DHS official told reporters. “Naturally, as we see more people arrive at the border from different countries, we are more likely going to see an increase in individuals who might be on the watchlist or directly related to terror activity.”
At any rate, I think our homegrown terrorists pose more of a threat. We have Trump calling a large segment of the population of vermin to be rooted out (echoes of Hitler for sure).
His spokesperson doubled down on it..
Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesperson, responded to the backlash by calling critics “snowflakes” and promising that “their existence will be crushed”
Crushed? Cool stuff I guess.
I'm with chip Roy when he made the speech on the house floor asking any of his fellow Republicans to bring him one shred of anything Republicans have done with their house majority.. just one thing he can take back to his voters and run on.
Zip. They would rather complain about immigration than to act in a bipartisan manner to enact reform, that is quite obvious.

The White House provided a list of 78 terror attacks that it said the media had underreported or not reported. President Trump has told us that the media, for its own reasons, is not reporting these attacks. Some of those attacks include:truck attacks in Nice, FranceParis, France (where apparently...

Trump wants 5.6B for his wall and he is willing to shutdown the government for an extended period of time. If the government is shutdown for an extended period of time, that means he doesn't get his 5.B for however long the government is shutdown. How does that help him get his...
