Rudy Giuliani must pay $148 million to 2 Georgia election workers he defamed, jury decides by CBS News (Dec 15, 2023)

"A federal jury on Friday ordered former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to pay a total of $148 million to two former Georgia election workers who were at the center of baseless claims he spread in the wake of the 2020 presidential election, a stunning award worth nearly $100 million more than the women had sought."

"Giuliani remained defiant after the verdict was read in court. Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, he said the threats the women received in the wake of the election were "abominable" and "deplorable" but continued to stand by his baseless claims of voter fraud. He declined to comment further, citing his intent to appeal the judgment."

Wow, that went up quite a bit $148M, that is a nice windfall. A lesson to be learned by the rightwing and those intimidating others the way these  women were, is to expect your day in court. Now they stand to take very the drawers from his pathetic behind. He was dumb enough to follow Trump off from the abyss, but Trump never really went over. Trump stiffed Rudy regarding legal fees for his services. You have to be pretty dumb to take Donald Trump at his word regarding anything. Guliani gets what he deserves and it serves as a warning for his tribe and people like him.

Well Rudy, nobody asked you if you had the money, you had just better get it.....

    Will Tump be held accountable?

"Trump himself singled out Freeman, by name, 18 times in a now-famous call in which he pressed Georgia officials to alter the state’s results. He called the 62-year-old temp worker a “professional vote scammer,” a “hustler” and a “known political operative” who “stuffed the ballot boxes.”

How do Trump supporters reconcile this type of speech?  How is this compatible with the office of  President?  Is there actually anything in the mind of a trump supporter that he can say or do that disqualifies him or makes him unfit for the office?  It very much seems like the answer is no to that question.  These types of things just get swept under the rug, ignored.

Some are currently in a tizzy because a mayor celebrated diversity but a president can single out and defame these 2 women who've now had their lives turned completely upside down due to the violent threats.  The fact that some want to put this man back in office is just baffling.
