AI? Did it affect the electorate or will it? Are they afraid of it?

Americans in both parties are concerned over the impact of AI on the 2024 presidential campaign by Pew Research published Sept 19, 2024.

First question, is it too late to worry about it  now? In other words, the damage is already done.

"Amid growing unease over the role of artificial intelligence in everyday life, a majority of Americans say they are concerned about the impact of AI on the 2024 presidential campaign.

Americans also express little confidence in major technology companies to prevent misuse of their platforms to influence the election."

There were four graphics used in the article that follows.

If curiosity arrives the following Google landing page is for "elections and AI". Just a cursory glance may offer reason for concern or not.

    A few questions . . .

When using social media have you questioned if a post is fake whether written content, image, or video while considering audio?

Are the campaigns using AI for strategy purposes in your view?

I asked the above to Microsoft Copilot. The answer is . . .

"I wish we could talk about elections, but it’s a complex topic that goes beyond my training. Sorry!"

Was that an acceptable reply to the inquiry?

    Thoughts, criticisms, accolades, and/or commentary?

What does the average American truly know about AI?   I would think polls taken using laymen would mean Zip.

Some larger social media sites can indeed pose similar risks to those associated with AI.
