How will the hurricanes affect the vote?

In my view its anyone's guess on matters concerning the vote with the states affected by the two recent hurricanes. Questions arise such as . . .

Postal service for the mail-in votes already mailed and if that service will be available for the future?

What about polling places? Will they be up and running in time for Nov 5th?

How about communication for tallying the vote statewide? Will the com/power lines be restored in time?

Will there be a shortage of voting machines because existing ones were destroyed?

How about paper ballots? Are they now soaked and unusable? Will new ones be printed and distributed in time?

And, then, of course the mood to vote by the voter? Will there be greater motivation to vote on Nov 5th?

    and, then there is . . .

How could hurricane misinformation affect the US election? by the Guardian (Oct 11, 2024)
Amid two hurricanes – one of which hit two swing states – conspiracy theories swirled, such as the weather being controlled to prevent Republicans from voting
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 … GTUS_email

"Alex Jones, the longtime conspiracy theorist liable for millions for defaming school shooting victims, started a broadcast this week with one of his favorite topics: weather manipulation.

“All right, I did a lot of research and a lot of preparation the last 30 years for what I’m going to be covering today,” he said. “Coming up, I’m going to do a big presentation for everybody on what’s really going on with weather weapons.”

Amid two hurricanes – one of which hit two swing states – formerly fringe characters like Jones contributed to a swirl of conspiracy theories, many becoming uncomfortably mainstream. The weather was being controlled, some of the theories went, to prevent Republicans from voting and fend off a Trump victory.

The misinformation since Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina and Georgia and Milton hit Florida offers a test run for how election day could go – and it’s not looking good."

What does Fox News have to say?

Milton's gone, but the political storm keeps raging over federal government's hurricane efforts by Fox News (Oct 11, 2024)
On what he calls Trump's 'onslaught of lies,' Biden urges former president to 'get a life, man'
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/milton … 67k2ietswf

"One day after Hurricane Milton tore a path of destruction across Florida, the death toll is rising and millions remain without power or running water.

As recovery efforts in Florida reach a fever pitch, there's no letup in the war of words between President Biden and former President Trump over the federal government's response to Milton and Hurricane Helene, which smashed into the southeast two weeks ago.

With Trump continuing to charge that Biden and Vice President Harris have been slow and ineffective in steering the government's storm efforts, the president once again fired back.

"Vice President Harris and I have been in constant contact with the state and local officials. We're offering everything they need," Biden emphasized on Thursday.

    The article concludes with . . .

""I spoke with the president this morning," DeSantis said during one of his round-the-clock briefings. "He said he wants to be helpful. And so if we have a request, he said, send them his way, and he wants to help us get the job done. So I appreciate being able to collaborate across the federal, state and local governments and work together to put the people first."

    Thoughts, criticisms, accolades, and/or commentary?
