      We are on the brink of WW III and his personality is criticized rather than his intentions.
      I think he is trying to steer these countries away from the dire consequences of their stubborn/greedy demands and desires.
      In my mind, the question is, are sanctions against Russia good or bad?
      I would say good.
      But, what are the consequences?
      
      After all, Sanctions, in the final analysis, are tricky.

               Uh ... China and Iran are rubbing their hands together with pretty greedy looks on their faces.
               
               I believe we are destined to win WWIII, by the way.
               Trump is the only one who will be able to strengthen our military and gain allies. Not to mention, strengthen this nation and it's economy.

   Trump is an idiot, most thinking people could have predicted this outcome of Trump failing to move Putin months ago.
   
   Putin is a killer and a tyrant who was not to be serenaded by Trump. Did Trump really believe that he had a rapport with Putin?  Putin only supported Trump as a way to undermine American democracy and as the Col. Klink in Stalag 13.
   
   Putin’s desire is to take all of the Ukraine, he did not take all the casualties and angst of the last 3 years for nothing.

         But, Trump in his mindless boasts claimed that he could bring peace to the area at the outset of his term, what became of that? All the while criticizing Biden and Europe for putting up a defense against an intractable dictator. So, everybody tried to “talk sense to him”, what has been the result?

               I don’t believe that sanctions are going to be effective as the disadvantages they pose can be circumvented by Putin. The only solution is a determination by the US and its allies to fight fire with fire. Is Putin prepared to fight against NATo and the coalition indefinitely? Is Putin prepared to face WWIII? That is where we call his bluff. Otherwise, Russia will prevail, most clumsily to be sure. With greater resources they simply wear down the Ukraine when there is no assistance. Putin and his model takes advantage of weakness and it is a characteristic that we dare not show. So, Trump has no real alternative to what Biden has been doing, except to allow for the total capitulation of the Ukraine in the face of the Russian onslaught. I don’t have to be a Henry Kissinger to clearly see the folly of Trump’s approach to the crisis.
