Jeremiah, Isiah, and John of biblical days forewarned the world of old of this and that saying, “wake up and smell the roses.” Jumping to 1988 in Isaac Asimov’s Book of Science and Nature Quotations arrives, “The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.

AI has roots in mythic times with the dream of intelligent machines dancing through myth and metaphor—from Talos, the bronze guardian of Crete. Alan Turing in his 1950 paper “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” introduced the idea of machines that could simulate human intelligence—and posed the famous question: “Can machines think?”

And, then, today just in this forum alone AI is rampant saying this and that, assisting with prose and formulating inquiry as Google steps up to the plate with their emerging Google Search AI Mode this month (Sept) of 2025 with browser searches. Just formulate a question and hit enter, kick back for half a blink, and, waa-laa, not only an answer to the query, but a door to tomorrow.

Did you know worldwide there are over 70,000 companies dedicated to AI? Not only that, but it is said 82% of all companies globally (266+million) are using or exploring using AI with their operations including sales.

“The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.”

    T'was ever thus.

As a writer, I am concerned about AI. But when it comes down to it, AI can duplicate a "Tale of Two Cities" but it cannot create one.
