“We are at present working discreetly, but with all our might, to wrest this mysterious force called sovereignty out of the clutches of the local national states of the world. And all the time we are denying with our lips what we are doing with our hands.”
    - Arnold Toynbee, Fabian Society – City Of London

I'm impressed they know enough to call sovereignty a "mysterious force".

did you read the article? i found it to be a well put together rendition of historical "facts"(?)

That is what we don't know unless we do the research  to prove or disprove. the trouble I always run into is that most if not all of history is just someone's  perspective...as with science... all theory.

very true...they have to keep rewriting the history books because the people keep disproving their version of history.

That article ranks as one of the most poorly researched and obnoxiously propagandist statements I have ever read. I've read worse but few match this for inaccuracy and sheer lying.
Many people disagree with the socialist concept.
Many people can point to inefficiency rather than effective solving of societies ills. There are rational and well thought out intellectual and practical day to day arguments about why the socialist model is opposed to the common good. why then, must idiots like this destroy the arguments of those with integrity by publishing ammunition for their opponents .
Any socialist with an ounce of research can point ot this as conservatives clinging to anything to bolster bankrupt ideas.
