It would be funny if it wasn't true!! Yes, they are going to pass the health care by NOT voting for it!!! Yes they are going to "deem" it to be law!!!
I looked up "deem" in the dictionary, here is what it means:
"to hold as an opinion; think; regard"
So in their "opinion" they "regard" this as law, they think!
Are you kidding me???? WTF happened to democracy? Congress and Pelosi are out of control!! They all know this bill is wrong and that's why they don't have the courage to vote for it! But they are going to pass it anyway!! Why??? Ask yourself, WHY???? Our freedom and our country are being taken from us right before our eyes!! I urge you all to ACT!!! Call your Congressman and tell them to vote NO!!!
House may try to pass Senate health-care bill without voting on it

After laying the groundwork for a decisive vote this week on the Senate's health-care bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the measure without having members vote on it.

Instead, Pelosi (D-Calif.) would rely on a procedural sleight of hand: The House would vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate bill; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers "deem" the health-care bill to be passed.
The tactic -- known as a "self-executing rule" or a "deem and pass" -- has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation as momentous as the $875 billion health-care bill. It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.
"It's more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know," the speaker said in a roundtable discussion with bloggers Monday. "But I like it," she said, "because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."

I don't "deem" any of them worthy to hold a job...where so many have fought and died for our liberties...including someone very close to me. They make a mockery of the sacrifices made to get us to the present day...where they can do anything they "darn-well" feel like. (Period)
I am watching the House of Representatives on Cspan1 and Rep Mike Pence (r) Indiana has addressed the Constitutionality of the Democrats passing a Health Bill without a vote when the Constitution says it must pass by vote both the House and the Senate.
He challenged them if they have the votes to bring them now...the madame speaker "quickly" used her gavel and said He was out of time!
Guess she didn't like the truth in her face. What a mockery of the Constitution.
They are actually acting under "Federal Presumption". I wrote a hub about it called "This Is Why".
I know this might be asking a lot, but is there anyone on Hubpages who could give me a balanced view if this healthcare debate in America and tell me exactly what is being proposed. Whenever I look for any accurate information it seems to have been muddled by political sides in to a load of propoganda, by those for and against the bill.
I do however think that a vote should be cast on the issue.
The main point about this entire issue is not healthcare, contrary to the constant bleating you see here and elsewhere, especially in the media. It is a blatant disregard for our Constitution, the law of our land. I wrote a hub about it called "This Is Why". You may want to read it.
This is part of the problem-- the people have not even been allowed to see all of the proposed provisions of the bill. It has been muddled, confused and bloated up with a boatload of unrelated, misleading, obfuscation.
I suggest you go to the senate website and take a look at the bill.

"is there anyone on Hubpages who could give me a balanced view if this healthcare debate"
One of Obama's campaign promises was to put all bills online for a full 5 days before they were voted on.
This Bill is unfinished and changes daily. There isn't a person on the Planet besides a select few secretive Democratic Insiders that really knows ALL of what it contains. We base our Assumptions on the Senate Bill from December.
These current tactics are PROVING how dangerous it is to allow any Organization of Government to operate in Secrecy.
The Federal Reserve is a Secret Organization. Henry Paulson a Bush Appointee and Treasurer under Bush made damn sure there would be no accountability for the money handed out to Wall Street! Why? Because he came from Wall Street. Paulson sold his personal Stock Portfolio for $700 Million and paid ZERO... that's right ZERO tax on the Windfall. Thank You George Bush and a special law that applies only to Executive Branch appointees courtesy of George Bush. Paulson came from Goldman Sachs.
Goldman Sachs manipulated the Bond Rating agencies so they could sucker AIG into insuring the junk paper in the sub-prime mortgage industry. Goldman is a Bank full of criminals... but they operate under corporate law and privacy so they were able to pull off their scam. Bush was deep in bed with Goldman. The AIG Bailout was about taking care of Goldman buddies not AIG.
Senator Dodd scolded the Federal Reserve... now he is introducing a Bill to give them nearly complete control over our Countries Businesses. Think about that. A Group of Secretive Private Bankers... the same group that Stole Billions from America by swindling AIG then getting the tax payer to bail them out illegally will have complete and total control of our entire economy (Which they pretty much have now).
When you look at the Health Care Bill... you are not seeing health care... you are seeing a Bill that shifts economic control from the private sector to the Government.
Currently more than 50% of Americans are directly or indirectly dependent on the Government for the majority of their income. By 2020 the projection is 67%!
This health care bill is part of the socialist agenda. The goal is to destroy the constitution, and give complete control of everything to the elitist on top.
Health Care Reform is a ploy. And thankfully some Americans are wising up to the scam.
Americans want Health Care... but this bill is not going to make anything better.
If you believe it will then think back to what happened last year on Wall Street.
Ask yourself why is their no accountability for our money? Why did Wall Street get a blank check to do whatever they want while real working Americans job prospects decline even further. Why does Dodd want to hand even more control to the secret bankers?

To answer the title question, Pelosi is afraid she doesn't have the votes for the bill to pass, so she's considering the Slaughter Proposal.
