Oh what a surprise!!! The stimulus didn't create a single job, at least no one can show that it did or didn't! Now that's a great use of 860 billion dollars! Hell, even I could create a couple of jobs with that kind of money!
I has a question. The new deal definitely created jobs immediately. would you have supported jobs programs that took a similar approach to the civilian conservation corps. etc?
No because those would be government jobs. Government jobs consume wealth, where private sector jobs create wealth. To be sure someone has to work in government but spending taxpayer money just for the purpose of employing someone is not a long term strategy for success especially when you're doing it on borrowed money.
the CCC wasn't intended as a long term solution it was to prevent a fair portion of the population from starvation and illness. though now that I think about it I don't think we're there yet.
THATS IT i know how to end the recession. I just need to convince Germany to invade Poland.
And let's not forget it wasn't the war itself that ended the depression. It was government purchases of weaponry and other things needed for the war effort that actually ended the depression.
Government spending FTW!
You know when congress finally aquiesced to Roosavelt and agreed to send supplies to the allies in Europe the supply ships arrived in England and North Africa the next day?
Roosavelt ftw. "What? the currents and winds were good.
Can anybody give me some feedback on my political hub anyone at all, my request thread sank faster than the Hood.
Another way to look at it is throughout all 4 terms of FDR unemployment remained high averaging around 15% and this with the country's men fighting the war! His New Deal extended the pain of the recession!
Surely you don't have something against FDR?
I remember you, you didn't like one of my hubs, which one was it if you don't mind my asking?
I didn't say that. I implied that you were not funny. Sorry.
FDR was evil, cruel and a socialist! While people in this country were starving he had crops plowed under and livestock slaughtered denying them cheap access to food in order to prop up farm prices. He was nearly America's first dictator. The press love him and pushed for him to get dictatorial powers. He disregarded 150 years of the tradition of term limits self imposed by all his predecessors! Congress was so frightened that they passed the 22nd amendment to make term limits a law!
Your opinions are incredibly off the map. Your ignorance is boundless.
Well you can say what you want but those are the facts. Of course you can't dispute them so instead you hurl an insult. Oh well, what else is new?
You confuse your wild opinions with facts. Most historians rate FDR as the second or third best president after Lincoln and Washington.
You can't just hand money to Bankers. Okay you can, but you need to "Package" the deception so you can at least fool some of the people. The Stimulus package was created to justify giving money to Wall Street. It didn't have to do anything more than make promises.
Yesterday's big news was how the Government would turn a profit on CitiBank. Okay. Why are they still sitting on the stock? Why not bail out of the stock now (pun intended) and take your profit instead of continuing to put tax payer money at risk?
The story claims the Government could make as much as $7.5 Billion on Citybank.
What they don't talk about is the $10 Billion a pop Unemployment bills that continue to be signed into law that are not paid for! Why not sell the stock and pay for one of them? Is it the Government's job to take taxpayer money and speculate in the markets?
Here is the list of Bailout Banks... How much of this money has been paid back?
http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/stor … nkbailout/
Isolating one or two examples of Bailouts that supposedly will pay back a positive profit and not reporting on the huge losses is a media ploy and propaganda work by the White House to keep pushing their tax and spend agenda.
The Government spends billions with no accountability. Secret Bankers run the Federal Reserve (Which is PRIVATE and NOT a Government Agency) also with no accountability.
And these Propaganda pieces continue to emerge.
Are the masses this stupid? Probably... it seems to be working for the Wealthy Elite.

I was on facebook earlier today, and a friend of mine posted a Youtube video about just how much money is being used to support the Bush tax cuts for the rich. 100 Billion dollars of the average tax payer's money! Which amounts to over $83,000.00 a year for a single individual making over...
