   Medicaid is Paying Bachmann Clinic for Gay Conversion Therapy!!
   
   
   So-called gay conversion therapy has been denounced by the scientific and medical communities as ineffective, and potentially dangerous.
   
   But an investigation earlier this month exposed that this hateful practice is used by the "quality Christian counseling clinic" owned by Michele Bachmann and her husband1 — a clinic which was recently discovered to have received over $137,000 in federal Medicaid funds, in addition to $24,000 in other state and federal funds.2
   
   It's bad enough that Bachmann and Associates, after denying for years they practiced ex-gay therapy, clearly encourages patients to pray the gay away. Our taxpayer dollars shouldn't be funding it.
   
   The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees Medicaid, and the Minnesota Department of Health (DEH), which distributes the funds within the state, should immediately pull public funds from Bachmann's clinic.
   
   Tell Secretary Sebelius and DEH Commissioner Edward Ehlinger: Stop funding Bachmann's anti-gay clinic. Click here to automatically sign the petition.
   
   Going to the Bachmann family for counseling is like attending a peace rally hosted by Dick Cheney.
   
   Their views are extreme, hateful and crazy. Michele Bachmann has called homosexuality "a part of Satan," and "a real issue of sexual dysfunction" while her husband Marcus has called gays "barbarians."
   
   And even as Michele Bachmann's family was collecting over $160,000 in Medicaid and other public funds, she was leading Tea Party calls for drastic cuts to the social safety net — especially to Medicaid which she has said swell the "welfare rolls" — and even voted to shut down the government rather than continue funding Planned Parenthood and the Health Care Reform Act.3
   
   Yet when reports broke of the Medicaid payments to her family, Bachmann suddenly became sensitive to discrimination, declaring "it would be discriminatory not to accept Medicaid as a form of payment."4
   
   It would be stunning to keep funding with public money a clinic that promotes an anti-gay, religious agenda and medically-unsound services. HHS and Minnesota DEH must take a stand now.

   Clarifying God's Laws
   
   In her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
   
   The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by a US man, and posted on the Internet.
   
   It's funny, as well as informative:
   
   Dear Dr. Laura:
   
   Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of debate.
   
   I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
   
   1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male
   and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
   
   2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned
   in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
   
   3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
   
   4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it
   creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
   
   5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.
   Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
   
   6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is
   an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than
   homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there
   'degrees' of abomination?
   
   7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if
   I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading
   glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some
   wiggle-room here?
   
   8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the
   hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
   
   9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig
   makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
   
   10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two
   different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing
   garments made of two different kinds of thread(cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
   
   I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.

      What a wonderful and intelligent response.  Why though do I have the feeling that Dr. Laura didn't reply to it?  I suppose because like most religious bigots, they pick and choose which parts of the Bible they wish to believe in.  This usually means they agree with the bit about homosexuals, but disagree with almost every other part.

      "....homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22" So what? Meaningless and completely out of line. This isn't the 1st Century. The Bible also says that if I see my neighbor mowing his lawn on the Sabbeth, he's supposed to be killed!

   I still see no proof of any of that BS occurring... no where on that tape do I see any such evidence. Telling someone once or twice they can pray for help or guidance, is not conversion therapy.

         The videos I have seen do not show anyone pushing reparative therapy. I did hear him say once that you can always pray for strength and guidance.
         
         But that is not therapy.
         
         If you have a video showing them performing reparative therapy then post the link and I will go see it.

            You are talking like reparative therapy is a real working practice. I get that it has a method, but it is ridiculous. Praying to God to make you like chicks? Seriously? I don't see the difference in what he did. Plus, they do offer it...the video DID talk about him offering it. If he used a different method...well, they are both ridiculous, so what makes one better than the other?

   If you can "pray the gay away", then can I "pray the extra 20 pounds from my stomach away?"  I've been having trouble overeating lately and I hear gluttony is a sin.  Any tips???
   
   One day maybe everyone will realize that 99.9% of all politicians are full of CRAP and don't care about me, you or anyone else but themselves.  It's not a party problem, it's a political problem.
