Will resist the urge to ask how Michele Bachmann ever got on the Intelligence Committee in the first place.
Just discovered she became a Swiss citizen in March 2012.
She is eligible to run for public office there.
Should she go live there?
Do you think that would NEUTRALIZE her?
I hear Switzerland has a relatively small Muslim population.
Run IN Switzerland? I think she should run TO Switzerland!
I would prefer she move into my guest room. Just like Switerland, gun ownership is encouraged, neutrality on european issues is embraced, banking is important and hot Republican women are adored. Keeping rooms opened for Sarah Palin, Nikki Haley and Kristi Noem.
And my house has an even smaller Muslim population.
Be Fair you guys!!
It's an unconventional road to lofty heights from which to yo-yo-yoddle louder!
OUCH! If she wants to go, go. There are many more politicians who should follow her!
Got a big chuckle out of reading these responses this morning.
Yodeling. That's pretty much what Michele Bachmann sounds like.
Unintelligable but apparently melodic and hypnotic to some ears.
Gosh I wish the likes of John McCain would reclaim the party. I heard Orrin Hatch is showing signs of returning to centrist (meaning, willing to negotiate) sanity.
They will probably be voted out and replaced by more TP nutjobs.
What have the Swiss ever done to you? I think she should go to outer Mongolia myself.
Don't ruin Mongolia their economy is doing so well too!
I guess there is always the moon...her and Newt...
Or Costa Rica. Her and Rush.
They really do need to kick her off that committee, though.
No, let us send Rush to Hell or Siberia, which ever one is more preferable.
Whichever one is less preferable. I want him to suffer!!
I think strongly dislike... mainly because of the hateful things those people say, for those of us who are having our family, friends and brothers in arms insulted it tends to irk us a little.
Bachmann: It isn’t that some gay will get some rights. It’s that everyone else in our state will lose rights. For instance, parents will lose the right to protect and direct the upbringing of their children. Because our K-12 public school system, of which ninety per cent of all youth are in the public school system, they will be required to learn that homosexuality is normal, equal and perhaps you should try it. And that will occur immediately, that all schools will begin teaching homosexuality.” -- Senator Michele Bachmann, appearing as guest on radio program “Prophetic Views Behind The News”, hosted by Jan Markell, KKMS 980-AM, March 6, 2004.
“Women should not be allowed on juries where the accused is a stud.”
~Rush Limbaugh, 1994 List of 35 Undeniable Truths
They’re out there protesting what they actually wish would happen to them sometimes.”
~Rush Limbaugh, on women who protest against sexual harassment, The Rush Limbaugh Show, April 26, 2004
“There are more American Indians alive today than there were when Columbus arrived or at any other time in history. Does this sound like a record of genocide?”
~Rush Limbaugh, See, I Told You So, p.68, November 1993
Should I go on? yeah as far as I am concerned these people deserve no respect at all, they annulled any right to it when they ignored the most basic premise of the country they claim to love and of any moral culture and society, that all people are born equal, deserving of equal rights.
Right... everyone deserves respect and equal rights, so people who I disagree with or who say hurtful things should go to hell, because that's the respectful response.
Seriously, it doesn't matter. There are people saying rude/hurtful/stupid things in every party, behind every ideology.
I treat it the same way you treat gun action with a criminal, if they violate the rights of others they forfeit their own. Yes discussion gets heated, yes we can disagree but there is a wide and irreparable margin between that and hatred and bigotry, the latter are not in any way acceptable nor am I willing to condone them by silence nor should anyone else, it's repulsive and the fact these people have followers is repulsive too. Simple and clear. My argument is not against conservatism or socialism or liberalism it's against individuals who spread hate and bigotry with full knowledge of the potential consequences. It is disappointing that such people become spokes people for sections of the conservative demographic but that is not at all the point.
The racist, the sexist, the homophobes etc. are in my eyes scum especially when they spread that message because they should have learned the consequences of it by now.
So, her attack on a perfectly innocent person was loving and caring? I don't see hate here...just dislike...and some humor.
I was not seriously suggesting she go to the moon you know...
Have you read some of the threads on here about the President of the US?

Is there any Republican presidential candidate more entertaining that Michele Bachmann? Sure, there's Herman Cain and his new-affair-every-week-or-your-money-back policy. And then there's Newt Gingrich and his constant stuttering while trying to spit out the phrase "sanctity of marriage",...

Here is the text from the speech Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn)gave at the invitation of the Tea Party after tonight's SOTU. I have heard a lot of criticism from GOP spokespeople that Bachmann undercut/competed with the official GOP rebuttal given by Paul Ryan (R-WI). What do you think? What do you...
