    THE OBAMA-AYERS CONNECTION

    By Dick Morris
    10.8.2008

Published in TheHill.com on October 7,2008

In the best tradition of Bill Clinton’s famous declaration that the answer to the question of whether or not he was having an affair with Monica depended on “what the definition of ‘is’ is,” Barack Obama was clearly splitting hairs and concealing the truth when he said that William Ayers was “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”

The records of the administration of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), released last week by the University of Illinois, show that the Ayers-Obama connection was, in fact, an intimate collaboration and that it led to the only executive or administrative experience in Obama’s life.

After Walter Annenberg’s foundation offered several hundred million dollars to American public schools in the mid-’90s, William Ayers applied for $50 million for Chicago. The purpose of his application was to secure funds to “raise political consciousness” in Chicago’s public schools. After he won the grant, Ayers’s group chose Barack Obama to distribute the money. Between 1995 and 1999, Obama distributed the $50 million and raised another $60 million from other civic groups to augment it. In doing so, he was following Ayers’s admonition to grant the funds to “external” organizations, like American Community Organizations for Reform

Now (ACORN) to pair with schools and conduct programs to radicalize the students and politicize them.
Reading, math and science achievement tests counted for little in the CAC grants, but the school’s success in preaching a radical political agenda determined how much money they got.

Barack Obama should have run screaming at the sight of William Ayers and his wife, Bernadette Dohrn. Ayers has admitted bombing the U.S. Capitol building and the Pentagon, and his wife was sent to prison for failing to cooperate in solving the robbery of a Brink’s armored car in which two police officers were killed. Far from remorse, Ayers told The New York Times in September 2001 that he “wished he could have done more.”

Ayers only avoided conviction when the evidence against him turned out to be contained in illegally obtained wiretaps by the FBI. He was, in fact, guilty as sin.

That Obama should ally himself with Ayers is almost beyond understanding. The former terrorist had not repented of his views and the education grants he got were expressly designed to further them.

So let’s sum up Obama’s Chicago connections. His chief financial supporter was Tony Rezko, now on his way to federal prison. His spiritual adviser and mentor was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, of “God damn America” fame. And the guy who got him his only administrative job and put him in charge of doling out $50 million is William Ayers, a terrorist who was a domestic Osama bin Laden in his youth.

Even apart from the details of the Obama/Ayers connection, two key points emerge:

    a) Obama lied and misled the American people in his description of his relationship with Ayers as casual and arm’s-length; and

    b) Obama was consciously guided by Ayers’s radical philosophy, rooted in the teachings of leftist Saul Alinksy, in his distribution of CAC grant funds.

Since Obama is asking us to let him direct education spending by the federal government and wants us to trust his veracity, these are difficulties he will have to explain in order to get the votes to win.

Now that Obama is comfortably ahead in the polls, attention will understandably shift to him. We will want to know what kind of president he would make. The fact that, within the past 10 years, he participated in a radical program of political education conceptualized by an admitted radical terrorist offers no reassurance.

Why did Obama put up with Ayers? Because he got a big job and $50 million of patronage to distribute to his friends and supporters in Chicago. Why did he hang out with Jeremiah Wright? Because he was new in town, having grown up in Hawaii and Indonesia and having been educated at Columbia and Harvard, and needed all the local introductions he could get to jump-start his political career. Why was he so close to Rezko?

Because he funded Obama’s campaigns and helped him buy a house for $300,000 less than he otherwise would have had to pay.

Not a good recommendation for a president.

I am always impressed with your research...so is it in the mainstream yet? Send it to CNN and Fox and all of them, all internet and newspapers...see what happens with it.

In the mean time I hope you have other internet connections you can publish it on so that we can know just as much about his past and have as many perspectives as possible, as that we do about McCain's...it only fair smile

PT, I saw on the news this morning that Acorn has some of it's offices' computers, 8 of them taken plus 20 boxes of paperwork because they have been registereing dead people to vote, and some people have registered around 20 times each using the same name, same signature and same pen. I saw the paperwork on TV. They didn't even try to disguise it. I'm just glad someone caught on. They are a way left-wing group that felt they could fly under the radar doing this stuff.

I do feel that it's very important to find out the people all of those people are connected to. We need to know the truth before voting happens. Saying that Ayers was a guy in the neighborhood, I feel, is trying his best to hide the truth of his whole connection with him and his cronies. This is a self-proclaimed terrorist and he wrote the foreward for his book. Do you just put your name on a man's book that you don't know any more than just a guy down the street? You wouldn't do that unless you supported and believed in what he was and is.

But, my question is, why do the people in America no seem to realize how important it is to know this stuff and what it means. Just like sitting there under Wright for 2 decades. He doesn't know what he stood for? He never preached like this? Obama must think the American public are completely clueless to expect anyone to believe these things. But sadly, there are some out there who do.

    Birds of a feather.............

I say that that's helped to make a big old mess for us that he is in the oil business. I don't like it at all. I think it takes away his balance in his mind to made good decisions for us. Because it effects his pocketbook. We don't need that in the White House. I think it skews his judgment. And it's not appropriate for an oil-man to be there. We do not need anyone who will be there looking to pad their bank account or for power. We need someone in the White House who loves the USA and would give his life for it. The job should not be about money or power. It should be about loving and taking care of America. Someone who will strive to make America what it should be. To bring America together and get it back on track. That's what I think about the job of President of the United States of America.

uninvited where did you and your question run off to?

Mike, I tried the link, but my dialup wont work with this. I did see who was doing the talking. Don't shock me and tell me he was fair and balanced. The man never is. I would faint if he were. So, since I can't see it, was he honest or bias as usual?

  6. Make Money profile image67

allshookup I would say Olbermann was honest but obviously bias towards Obama seeing the slander from the McCain camp never ends.  Olbermann said Obama was just 8 years old when William Ayers was a VietNam War terrorist protester.  In the video Olbermann also talks about Palin's husband's connection to an Alaskan independence party.  He quotes the leader of the Alaskan secessionist party, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried under that damn flag." and "I'm an Alaskan, not an American.  I have no use for America or her damned institutions."  Olbermann was basically saying that Palin shouldn't be talking about Obama's charitable connection to Ayers considering Palin's husband's connection to the Alaskan secessionist party.  In the video Olbermann also talks about this 90 year old lady that shot her self in the chest when Fanny May came to reposes her home after living there for 38 years or something like that.  The old lady lived and Fanny May has said she can continue to live there when she recovers.  Olbermann said we can forgive Sarah Palin like Fanny May forgave the old lady.  He went on about a couple more things but they were the main points.  It's quite the entertaining video.

Olbermann is the first major lefty (democrat) talk show host ever allowed on the major media in america. Course he is not allowed to say anything against Israel, anything good about Russian, the newly elected presidents of Central South America or of course Iran. Can't understand why he is not fired, 'cept he makes a lot of money for msnbc. For the right-wing of course he is biased.

Thanks for letting me know what was on there. I'm not shocked that he was sided toward Obama. I woulda bet money on it. MSNBC is to the left. Which I know I don't have to tell anyone. I appreciate that. I wonder how true it is and where he got his information. I'd like to read it. I'd like to have more info on that for sure. About the slander, I see an awful lot coming from the Obama said too. Neither side has been nice during this.

    PT,
I understand your probable intention in posting this article, especially during this campaign season. Seeing the current level of diatribe, it could easily be taken as an attempt to provide some sense of fairness and balance to an otherwise down and dirty process.

But I wonder why you wouldn't also provide some fair and balanced information concerning the history of the Bush family and their many financial and political alliances throught the last 50-75 years. They would make your example look like a local Girl Scouts Cookie sale in comparison. The entanglements span the globe.

Do I have disdain for any President current or past? None whatsoever. But facts are facts and sometimes possess the uncanny ability of settling a dispute or bringing clarity to an otherwise confusing situation. And politics is all about confusion. It's also about creating wonderment through deft, slight of hand political maneuvering while speaking words which mesmerize.

It has to be admitted that right, left.....Democrat, Republican.....conservative, liberal.......are all either side of the same political coin. They are inseparable as they head in the same direction.....and have been for the entire history of this country. It's easy to focus on one tree and its situation, yet miss the forest where all is seen in its proper context.

Sorry for not being able to reply quickly.

I posted this article because it shows the scope of the problem facing Obama. It's not a new problem - it's one that hasn't been fully vetted.

In truth, I think had the financial crisis happened 3 weeks from now - it never would have gotten traction. But ACORN, Obama, Ayers and many other things are all inter related. This is not going to go away.

My guess is that it will sink Obama's campaign.

CONCERNING the article - I did not write it Sparkling Jewel - Dick Morris did. I copied and pasted it.

But of everything I've been reading for weeks - it's the best synopsis.

This is the kind of voter reaction out there. ANGER has to be vented - and the line that it's the Bush administration isn't enough. This collective anger is about to bust on the Democrat leadership.

    http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=192423

Ben Bush, George isn't running for president this time - so it's pointless to point out his affiliations. In any event, as disappointed as I am in the spending Bush reigned over - I am far more frightened of a Socialist Obama administration.

Ayers gave Obama 60 million to hand out for education. But they did not educate a single student. They raised their political awareness to vote liberal and socialist. That's a matter of public record.

That's what ACORN etc is all about. It was a political association that weaved itself into Mortgages, Congress, politics and Socialism.

The economic mess has cracked it wide open for all to see. Buckle your seat belts - the volcano is about to erupt.

I am all confused again. Despite the other right wing war-mongers appreciation of the quality of your research, John McCain has proven himself to be pretty dirty and one would have thought his involvement in the S&L scandals would have been enough to ruin his career. It seems if you have friends with money, none of that matters huh?

Although McCain is heavily in favor of killing people for money which does rather fit in with your christian (or wholastikal) ideals. Nice.

Why would you be frightened of socialism. As far as I can tell, you have a communist government right now. Bailing out the banks? Communism. Surely socialism is a step up?

Or would that put off your hoped-for apocalypse some?

But the real question is - Is McCain Baptist - or is he Episcopalian? Inquiring minds want to know.......

  20. Prophecy Teacher profile image59

Yes and no. Both parties are awful. But I have no hope - nor reason to hope - the Democrat Liberal Socialist party - will ever reform itself - especially when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Now Zarm et al will then (knee jerk fashion) point out the current Administration etc. But...

No where do I hear Liberals calling for smaller government - thus no hope; as opposed to Conservatives everywhere - screaming for limited Government - thus HOPE!!!

There is a huge divergence between Bushism and Conservatism. Bush is not a fiscal conservative. To believe all Republicans embrace the Bush Administration in total - is wrong. The Republican party is split between Conservatives - and moderates - and closet Liberals.

Zarm, intellectual dishonesty implies the inability to see the other's point of view. But I would vote Democrat in an instant if they were for smaller Government - even if they supported abortion. I believe Liberalism's power is vested in larger Government - and abortion would fall with smaller Government as well as 100's of other Government intervention in our lives. I don't care what any one believes as long as they can not get the money from me to make it happen. Liberalism without money is dead. Conservatism without money is life to the people.

Long live the people - even the little little people.

And although I believe much of Republicanism is too entrenched in government - at the very least - half the party is screaming for reform and smaller government.

    That's change!!!

Does this video show the intellectual honesty of your party Zarm??? This is a video of just a few McCain Supporters - maybe 10 - walking down the street with an American flag. Would you be telling the people to leave em alone - or would you join them in honesty?

What that video shows is a well made piece of propaganda that was done by people who knew full well with deliberation what they were doing when they did it.  Just more propaganda encouraging "Us" vs "Them", which is exactly what the people in power want.

At least a Civil War may come out of this kind of stuff, if not more, because people have been riled up so bad that they cannot stop antagonizing each other.

What that video won't show you is images and pictures of people at a McCain-Palin rally yelling things like "off with his head", "Traitor", and "Terrorist", when Obama's name comes up.

What it will show you is people throwing the middle finger to what was obviously a planned event meant to antagonize and divide.

One difference between me and you is that I know the names and have seen the faces of the priests/ministers/politicians (and known some of them), who are plotting to cause a Civil War over the issues of Abortion and Stem Cell research.  I know who they are, I know where they live, I have read their publications, I know their goals, I know what they are willing to do, and I know the names of their organizations, friends and associates.

I am willing to bet that you do not know as much as I do on this.

There are many many people on the so-called "Religious Right" whose unspoken wish is for a Civil War to take place so that the "scourge" of Abortion no longer "plagues" the land.  Many of these same people even now are being conditioned and numbed so that if it comes to it, they can kill "liberals"/"terrorists", interrogate "liberals", torture "liberals" and eradicate "liberals/terrorists".  This is no coincidence as the same priests and ministers who were manipulatively suggesting that "God" was "punishing" us for our "sins" on Sept 11th are the same people who are organizing this push towards Civil War.  The same priests who toted out a long list of political grievances (abortion, supporting gay rights, stem cell research as frozen concentration camps), as the reasons that "God" allowed Sept 11th, the same black-hearted and viciously cruel zealots that have shown their religion to be an abominable abyss of ideologically driven hatred for any other view or any other way to vote, these same men have vowed in the name of "God Almighty" to protect the unborn at all costs, even if it means indirectly inciting Civil War and serious violence.

It is subtle, and like the whisper of a wind, a gentle breeze, it seeks to purify the land in the name of the Holy Spirit of all that is Evil in the name of all that is Righteous and Good and True.  It aims to fulfill these goals by labeling and demonizing people who do not agree with the Idol as "liberal" and it aims to gently eradicate the infestation of wicked people in this country in the name of God and restore the country to it's true God given destiny through genocide.

What these priests and ministers do not know, is that they are not on the top of the pyramid with the all seeing eye.  Neither do the people above them who are happy to have them at their service really see the whole picture.  What these people do not know is they are being caught up into a social process that has happened many many times over in ages gone by, and that has nothing to do with any one true "God" in particular that allegedly literally exists and everything to do with the cruelty of the human race exhibited through the rose colored lens of a Social Construct worshiping itself and calling that vicious Idolatry "God".  The human race may well never conclusively learn from the dangers of fundamentalism in all it's various disguises.  The human race may well even destroy the world to save it, and label total destruction of the earth's inhabitants by Nuclear War as the Parousia.

There is no God, there is only the Demon who is in power attacking the Demon who isn't.  That is the end result of Fundamentalism of any sort, and I do not support that false paradigm and I never will.

Don't think you quite get PT. The republican party represents the rich and business. These are both for smaller government regulation and taxes. However when bigger government makes them more money they are for bigger government. They love the huge defense budget cause so many people are making money from it. They love the government bailing out the banks.

Power comes from ideas PT, they don't come from anywhere else, (perhaps much to your chagrin).  I know you might think that 'God' is the author of all morally good ideas, but that is begging the question now isn't it?  I think I'll go back to being a 'pawn' on God's cosmic chessboard and let him play me while Satan maneuvers the Black pieces. roll

You fight an idea with another idea, if you try to speak power to 'ideas' you end up with a rebellion and a lot of very angry oppressed people.

You can't fight ideas with bullets.

How long will it take the human race to get this ironed out and taught in the schools and culture for all time?
