Is it fair for Apple to charge these prices?
Profit-motivated businesses charge whatever will maximize income. That is their duty to their shareholders.
But don't they pay their workers slave wages? Where is their duty to them?
Why aren't more companies taking advantage of this cheap labour?
They're trying.....just wait until all the unions are busted, and they can claim they need reparations to come back....after getting tax breaks to leave!
Cheap labor, and tax breaks to come home.....so they can do the damage here they did overseas. what paragoons of reprehension.
Funny thing, my last hourly job wasn't with a union and I got paid $18/hr with good benefits.
What incentive do these companies have to raise salaries if nobody is competing with them for labour?
I made this thread to point out the irony.
People complain that the insurance companies are ripping them off. They make 1-4% profit.
Apple makes 20% profit, one of the highest profit margins of any large company in the nation. But Apple is never called evil for being money-hungry.

What a SHOCK! The major CA health insurers have been fined for delayed and underpaid claims to physicians and hospitals. If it's happening here -- and it is -- it's happening elsewhere in the US, too. Who does this practice help? Duh. The longer insurers keep that cash in their pocket the more they...
