this is one of the many issues of concern in our election system-
what are the pros and cons of voter ID?
"In recent years, Democrats have argued that requiring voters to show photo IDs prior to voting is an egregious act of voter suppression. Ben Jealous, of the NAACP, has gone so far as to argue that such requirements are tantamount to modern-day Jim Crow laws. In the world they inhabit, lots of voters don't have access to photo IDs, so requiring voters to provide this will "disenfranchise" them and leave them out of the democratic process. Funny they don't feel that way for their own party conventions."

It's to identity the people entering are delegates for their state's Democrat party convention. Their purpose to determine Democrat nominees. Key word is Democrat not everyone. Big difference then suppressing votes for a President.ID will hinder retirees and the poor from voting. Only Fox News would post such a misleading story! Fair and balanced? Not!
I think the voter ID laws are to serve a specific purpose. To get Americans used to the idea of showing identification when requested. Just another step to implement a more tyrannical government. At this point in time, it is mandatory to identify yourself verbally, but there is no Law requiring an individual to show any identification. This is going to change, the first step being mandatory to show identification before voting. The first step!
Uh Oh...and it's the Republicans advocating it!
Better tell Fox news, WND and Beck.
Reality Bytes, my 84 year old mother, never had a driver's license or picture id. For her to vote, she needs to get help into a wheelchair and go down to prove it's her. IRONICALLY, how can you prove it's YOU to get a picture ID, if you never had ID. FINGERPRINTS? Other then that, this is just an invitation to VOTER FRAUD ID's. Think about it. Anybody can get a fake id!

Why is voter I.D. such an issue?I have been an American citizen my whole life (58 yrs.) and cannot get a job in the U.S. without a current picture I.D. and an actual social security card. So, why would I feel that I should be able to vote for the leader of my country without one? As long as this...
