How To Find Lost Friends And Relatives

Updated on October 22, 2011

Have you ever taken time out of your busy life to think how far have you come in life? Do you ever sit in the corner of your window with a mug of coffee in your hand and recall all the times that you have had, the good ones, the bad ones do you remember all the people that you have left behind friends, family lovers.

Don’t you at times just wish to go back in time and meet those people again? People, who are an integral part of your memories, people who had played a part in your present once? And all of the other people who you left behind as your life had moved on.

We all do. We all some times wish to meet the loved ones that have been lost; at times we miss them and want to feel their presence again in our lives. But finding lost people is by no means an easy task.

Usually what happens is that every time we think of a lost friend or a relative we get a desire to meet them, and we promise ourselves that we would locate them from somewhere but eventually we get so engrossed in our busy lives that we forget to do so.

Another reason for not putting in the effort as that most of us don’t know how exactly to find that person. We get scared by the idea of going through a search so we put the idea aside. Don’t be scared go for it. If that person matters go find that person because life is short, here today gone tomorrow.

It is very likely, that your lost friend may be using a social network. Try finding them on these websites.

Through A Common Friend

One way to find a lost friend or a lost relative is through a common friend or a relative.

If you have a common friend who might know where the person you are looking for or even someone else who might know, it is rather easy to find that lost friend or a relative.

Through Various Sites On The Internet

Finding a lost friend through a common contact is one way of finding a lost friend and an easy one. However if you don’t have any contacts that might help and you have no idea where you lost friend might be then yes, it is perhaps a difficult job.

One way to make it a bit easy is through the internet. There are many sites on the internet that can help you locate your lost friend. These sites can help you with the address and the contact number of your friend.

Through Facebook

If sites don’t help then there is facebook. Every other person now is on the facebook, from a 12 year old to a 60 year old.

Facebook is one convenient way to locate a friend. Just go to the search option that is above the web page of facebook and type in your friend’s name if you can’t find it by that you can also type in his/her nick name or any other name by which you they might be on the facebook. Once you locate them you might drop in a message or add them as a friend.

How Facebook Helps In Finding Lost People

By Going To Their Home Town

If you can’t find that person on the internet you might go to his/ her hometown or his residence that you have the knowledge of. They might have left from there but you can inquire about their present address.

Telephone Directories

If you don’t find any luck there, one other way is to go through the telephone directory. This an old method, a method used at a time when the globalization has not increased to such an extent as it has today. However to find that friend of yours through all the today’s methods there is always a telephone directory to help you.

Above stated are few very common methods of generally locating a lost friend or a relative.

However there is a large world out there and these are not the only ways by which you can locate a lost person in your life.

It depends on the story you share with that person, your memories with that person. There are also many others by which a lost friend can be located.
