Which do you do more....whine and complain or find a solution?
Ok, so I admit it. When I am alone and have an issue, I may whine and complain for a while. When I decide that has gone on long enough, then I try to resolve the problem.
How about you? Any thoughts on this?
I'm definitely results driven. If there is a problem I'm usually the first to say... "yeah your complaints are great and all but how are we going to fix this?" Honestly, I'm not the best at actually fixing things but a pretty decent muse! lol
Every since I read the text book Psychology by Hockenbury & Hockenbury, I have tried to adopt Problem focused coping strategies. When I have a problem, i go right in to brainstorming a solution and then taking action. This is where I usually take a small whine break. After I have whined a little, I go back to trying to solve the problem.
I live alone so I don't have anybody to complain to, lol!!!! I try to come up with a solution.
Find a solution. It's easy to complain but nothing gets resolved from that.
I usually tend more towards finding a solution, but I do mutter a lot under my breath while I do it....
I am always keeping to my objective. If there is a problem, I search for solution. I do believe that there is always a solution to resolve issue.
I normally will not rest until I resolve the situation. I think it is bad to leave thing alone when there is a problem and it will grow into a bigger issue if not solve. So, I will brainstorm till I get the solution.
I think it is possible to do both. Whine and mutter, while working on a solution. For me it depends on the problem. Sometimes things happen that have no resolve and it helps to be able to "discuss" it with someone and let off that steam that is building up. It helps us to process it to really let out how we are feeling about the situation - as long as whining does not become a habit - which it can become very easily.
I am all for finding a solution to those problems that can be solved. Get the whining, or complaining done in one sitting, then put your head down and plug on forward to a solution.
I agree. You are so right. having a sounding board does help me to work through things. I have been known to do a little excessive whining in my younger days!! Finding the solution is much more satisfying to me these days.
The more I whine and complain it seems to help me bring about a solution to the problem - without fail.
Yes, I do the same, but not always. When the problem affect me deeply, then only I complain first and then try to find out the solution. I think it happens to everyone.
I do a little whining and complaining, then I find a solution. I do believe that every problem has a solution. However, I still whine and complain just to get past the whining and complaining part, before I find the solution.

Are males in the 20 to 40 age group bigger whiners than older men?Do we have a whole new segment of whiny males? As a Baby Boomer I don't ever remember the men of the "Greatest Generation" complaining and whining about things. Am I wrong in my observation?
