   Is there a link between Love and Obedience ?
   
   Can we measure Love ? Can we fix the limits of obedience ? I have observed two important things. "Respect out of Love" and "Respect out of Fear". As ages role by fear files increase and love turns more commercially influenced. Often we are not the actors, but more than that, we leave an Impact on an individual's mind. This prompts him either towards following us, or an unwanted break-up. Parents love their kids, a girl loves a boy. But does not love represent something different from just Flowers and Gifts ?

      Thank you Abdul, for taking interest in this question. Well said, love can't be measured. So what is the "How Much" of love. I wish to expand the meaning, and I can do it with your noble thoughts.

   No link between love and obedience, which is often based on fear. Obviously we should all obey the law, and children should be obedient to the wishes of a loving parent who acts in the best interests of the child. But other than that  - adults are the masters and determinants of their own lives. Most women in the UK omit the word 'obey' from their marriage vows. On an individual level it seems to me that love is a combination of caring more for the other persons welfare and happiness than our own and mutual respect and liking. On a global level -  'Love Thy Neighbour' - which means respect and consideration for humanity.
   
   I can highly recommend The Road Less Travelled by M.C. Peck, a psychologist, on the subject of love.

      Glenis. On your basis of observation you rightly said, there is no link between Love and Obedience. Even in the society we should keep these two things apart to avoid chaos. Now what I wish to express is Obedience inspired by Love. Thanks for book rc

   When someone loves another they want to help them if possible but that doesn't mean they are looking to "obey" or "follow" them.
   As you noted parents love their children however parents who "obey their children" are not deemed as being "good parents".
   Loving someone also means being able to be (honest) with them as well have disagreements without it destroying the relationship.
   Love should not require one to become someone's obedient servant or a doormat.  It's one thing if they (mutually) cater to one another and it's something else if it's only one person bending over backwards to please the other. In any healthy relationship there is always an element of reciprocation.

      I agree. Now when God made the world, there were no laws. But then  the laws appeared. Does this mean, God loves no onger. Like you say, love prompts us to help. But what if the one being helped, don't heed to the right advice's. Thx fr Oscar's Quote

      Yet don't you think that sometimes, we act worser than creatures, before our Creator. You know the well being of your pets. That's why you command Obedience. Same way around with everyone. Listen when its Grace to avoid the Commandments. Let's delve.
