difference???...love is primary requirement for any emotional relationship ...friendship is pinnacle of every relationship and so often married couple are advised to become best friends..friendship is selfless form of love which is not demanding and always there...only relation comparable to friendship in terms of selflessness is mother-child relationship..if even one doesnot give time to friends, friends are there. always..

There really isn't a difference a true friend (friendship) would do the same things as someone who claims to love you would do.  Of course intimacy doesn't always get involved in a friendship, but being able to count on your friend, confide in your friend and be respected by your friend is appreciated and guaranteed.  Loving someone also comes with all of the above and more.  A Good relationship has a Great friendship attached to it whether or not sex is involved.  So to answer your question I don't think there is a difference.
