   My oldest child has recently come out as transgender and after opening up is now avoiding everyone except immediate family.  He is very afraid that people will not love  him anymore.  I have started a crowdfunding page to help purchase the necessary needs for a f2m transgender person. He will be 16 in just 2 weeks and has cancelled all events because of this.
   
   Before I continue please note: I AM NOT TRYING TO SOLICIT DONATIONS FROM HUBBERS. I AM NOT EVEN ASKING YOU TO SHARE IT.
   
   Continuing on, He knows I have written an article about our experience and is loving the feedback from strangers on Twitter that are sharing and commenting . What i wish to ask is that if you have a moment could you follow the link in my bio (where HP instructed me to put it) and just leave a supportive happy birthday comment for him to read.  I just want him to see that he doesn't have to be afraid to be himself.

      i love all people. gays, lesbians, black, autistic, everyone. but please, dont use hubpages to promote affiliate links. its very nice of you to take the time for your transgender kid. i just dont know how the others might react to this.

            what i meant to say was that you are a very supportive parent towards him. my mom would share stories about my challenges as an autistic individual. i was born with mildly severe autism. i repeated words that adults said. you can find out more by going into my profile and go near the bottom of the page.

      I think it's awesome that you're a supportive parent! That is going to make his life so much easier going forward. My husband is a trans man, first started his medical transition about 10 years ago and couldn't be happier today. All the best to you and your family!

   Is he sure? Maybe wait a while before going through with the procedure. Meanwhile, he can live life as his preferred gender and get the operation later if it might produce financial problems now.
   
   Before anyone criticises me, please don't. I'm not criticising this child's feelings, but he is still a child, after all. He is still very young, and there is no rush to go through with an operation that will be difficult to pay for.
   
   By the way, it is great you took it so well. Your child clearly trusts you very much.

      Oh, there is absolutely no operation planned for the near future.  He is still a child,  that is a decision for him to make waaaaay down the road!

            He always felt as if he was a boy.  Hes always been ashamed of being in a female body.  It wasn't until he got into social media and such that he finally realized that it was ok to be himself.  And then eventually he came out.

               that's a wonderful story. im proud of him. youve raised your kids well, especially this one...thats not saying that you didnt raise your other kids at all. you raised your kids better than my mom raised hers. im in a group home because she didnt figure out the formula for raising an autistic human being.

                  I understand first hand how difficult it is to raise children with needs that you do not fully understand. I had to go through a lot of training and education to learn how to handle my young son with moderate autism. It took a lot to be able to calm him just when he was hurting himself and having melt-downs.
                  I am glad that you have found a place where you can receive any support you need. I am sure that decision was difficult for you both.

      It's not "the procedure." There are multiple gender confirming surgeries a person may or may not choose.

   He sounds like a good lad. You already sound like you're doing a marvelous job. Ask him if he's heard of Dragon Age: Inquisition. It has a trans male character in it called Krem. Ask him to check him out

   Hello
   First I would like to congratulate you for supporting your child. Family's irrevocable support could get you through anything. Knowing that they have your back means a lot.
   Second, Happy birthday to your son in advance. I hope he has a great 16th birthday, after all you don't turn 16 every year.
   Tell him there is nothing to be afraid of. People who truly loves will never turn their backs on you for something you have no control over.
