How do you stop an abusive ex-partner from trying to ruin your life 3 years after?
I left an abusive, very wealthy partner almost 3 years ago. He has & is trying to ruin my life by manipulating my support system to the degree that I no longer see any of my family. He hated them before, now is helping them financially in different ways, continuously sending me lawyer letters, threatening emails. He is fighting to adopt my son that is not his, he stirs up my ex husband when it suits him, then I have threats from both men. Psychologically it is taking it's toll on me & I don't see how it is ever going to stop.
You should definitely get the advice of a lawyer and get a restraining order. Do you have any police reports of abuse from when you were together? You should tell your family what is going on as well and ask them to not accept money or anything from him. Quite frankly, he has not stopped being your abuser. There are plenty of people out there who would be more than willing to try and stop him. You must seek the help of others or he will manipulate you forever. Find that mind set to tell him to "eff off" and go with it. He ain't nothing but another man in this world girl, and you can stop it if you want. Make it very public and scream it to the world the kind of person he is AND DON'T STOP UNTIL HE DOES. HE IS NO LONGER YOUR ABUSER. YOU GOT AWAY FROM IT NOW GET HIM AWAY FROM YOU.
He seems selfish enough to want to conserve his reputation and leave you alone if you're loud enough.
I went through the same thing. He ended up moving 5 hours away to get away from me because I became so annoying. LOL. I wish you the best of luck.
What does "ruin your life" mean exactly? If need be, get a restraining order. Mostly, people will stop poor behavior when they're ignored. If that's not the case, let a third party deliver the consequences he faces by crossing well-defined bounderies.
