    Yes. Life is too short to get hung up by your insecurities. What's the worse that could happen? You get turned down. No big deal. But before I approached, I'd have thought out what I was going to say so that there wasn't some crazy-awkward moment hanging between us. That would be a buzz-kill for sure. I would also assess the possibility of success first, by having a bit of across the room, silent flirtation. This would consist of making eye contact longer than necessary, smiling, and giving off that vibe that is a cross between demure and flirtatious.
