Do you believe in a soul mate?

   Do you believe in a soul mate?
   
   The idea of someone coming into your life and completely changing it. Do you believe you have one soul mate out there? Or do you believe you have multiple soul mates? And if so, do you think you have met any of your soul mates yet? What qualities does a person have (in retrospect, of course. since usually a soul mate is only in your life for a short period of time) that qualifies them as a soul mate? If you do not believe in soul mates, why not?

   I believe my husband is my soulmate. We met when we were both 16 and it was an instant connection. I could talk to him about anything right from the beginning, which is saying a lot since I don't open up to much of anyone. It's like he truly is my other half, and me his. We are completely different but we know each others thoughts and can finish each other sentences- right from the very beginning and still today, 16 years later.

   I don't believe in soul mates anymore.  I do believe in love that draws two people together.  To elaborate, a person's personality goes through so many changes in his or her lifetime that his or her idea of an ideal mate changes with it.  Also, they are so many different types of personalities that it becomes, in my opinion, virtually impossible to figure out which kind really goes well with what.  What I do believe is that real love sees beyond all those differences because the two people involved make each other feel so good about themselves that it doesn't really matter what kind of individual they are.  I've been on dates now and then and I've always gone out with a woman that I felt fit the parameters I've established (love of outdoors, love of reading, ect.)  However, it nothing went beyond the point of just having a casual conversation.  That's why, in fact, I stopped trying to explain to people what kind of woman I'm looking for because I simply have no idea other than I want us to feel good around each other no matter what it is we're doing.

   I believe we have lots of soul mates! I don't believe there is a "sole mate".  The whole notion of having just one person who is an excellent fit for you out of world containing 7 billion people defies logic! Generally speaking when it comes to finding love we tend to (exclude) rather than (include) people as "options". If I say my "soul mate" has to be of my own race. That automatically eliminates more than 6.5 Billion people without ever saying "hello"!  If we then say they must have the same religious beliefs, live in our country, state, or town...  we continue eliminating millions upon millions of other people (sight unseen). All this before we get to such things as height, weight, occupation, hobbies and interest. Lastly our friends and family must like if not "love them" and this person's family and friends must like if not love us!    Yes I am with my soul mate. she is the one person who I could not picture being without, I awake every morning more in love with her than the day before. before I met her my life was aimlessly meaningless and destructive, the day we met was an instant attraction, a feeling like we had been together for ever, she is the most important person in my life, she is the mother of my children and my future wife, she is the one person who makes all the trouble a person could face in life seem miniscule, she is my best friend, my "SOULMATE".

   I absolutely believe in soul mates. I do believe that the phrase or statement and/or quote "It's not how you start, it's how you finish" should accompany that very idea. Change is the aggravator of time, and in conjunction with love or finding ones soul mate it is bound to cause some casualties. With that being said, the one who you end your life with and whom you've given your heart to (despite how many times before), if you're happy and in love, everything else will somehow follow suit.
