    Would you hire a virtual girlfriend?

    Apparently the new trend in online dating is to hire a virtual girlfriend. She will post messages on your facebook wall, tweet you, send you text messages, and even love letters. If I was that desperate I would seek psychological help but to each his own. What are some reasons why someone would do this?

    I'm not sure unless they are just so lonely.  Personally if that is what they need, why not do the posting themselves posing as a girlfriend rather than pay someone else.  The whole thing is just bizarre.

    People who do this type of thing or send flowers to themselves at work are doing so to (impress) other people. Facebook and Twitter are primarily public forums to show how popular someone is by how many "friends" or "followers" they have. People have always been willing to spend money in order to (feel) better. Some people I suppose look at it as just a "service". It would not surprise me if that is how people that choose to hire a prostitute and gigolo see it. They don't think of themselves as being "desperate". In fact rich and famous people have been known to participate in activities that baffles the mind of the general public.

    Hey why not; most people in the world only love you for what they can get out of you anyways. At least this way you wouldn't be that surprised. Just being straight forward.  I've heard of rich mature women paying whomever to do whatever, and not in a sexual or laboring type manner either.
