How to make your chat a long interesting chat when you hardly know a person?
When a person can't be taken as in your friend even though you have his/her contact number
I think everybody likes to talk about themselves - so the best thing to do when you run out of things to say is to ask questions!
Ask about their plans for the summer, or for holidays. Ask them questions about hobbies they have expressed interest in. (Ex: "I remember you said you liked racquetball? How long have you been playing? Where did you learn? Is it hard?")
Cherry pick information - Meaning if you are talking about the weather, and the mention that their garden sure does love the weather, then you can 'pick' out the word garden to talk about.
People do not mention things if it doesn't hold some importance to them. So pick out words that stand out and talk about them.
