It depends on your culture.  In many cultures, it is perfectly OK to marry your first cousin, second cousin or third cousin.

If it is not OK in your culture, then that's your choice.

Sin? According to... the bible? LOL If it is so, you could have a relation with you brother, eben your dad.

I don't think so. Having a relationship with a 1st cousin is looked down on and illegal in some places but I don't even know if it's a sin.

I don't think it's a sin but i would never do it. I don't care if he was my 20 th degree cousin i would have nothing to do with it.

lol   My girlfriends and I used to have the argument about one of us (not me) saying it was fine to have a relationship with a first cousin.  (It was her nationality that apparently had no problem with it.)  The other two of us used to say, "Eeew, gross, gross, gross."  lol  She was always telling us she didn't see the problem.  smile

I have to agree with you, though, if I found out it was "any" cousin I'd have to rule him out.  smile  Whether it's a sin or not probably depends on the religion.  Apparently, even a first cousin wouldn't have been a sin for my very Catholic girlfriend and her family.

I don't think it's a sin. If we had grown up together, however, it would probably be too strange for me.

in some religions and cultures it is acceptable to have a relationship with ur 2nd cousin forward... there arent any laws preventing you from forming a relationship, i think it is entirely up to you to make that decision of whether it is morally wrong or right. you shouldnt let anyone decide for you. if you think its ok, go for it! have a chat with your family and also him, to make sure you both have the same views on relationships within the family.

what is a 3rd degree cousin? depends what percentage of blood you share lol
I kinda had a crush on a cousin when I was younger, we barely saw each other because she lived out in the countryside.. it was funny because they called me city boy and she made a fuss of me, because they didnt go to city often..
but i was young then so you dont understand..Theres plenty more fish in the sea

They say that having an intimate relationship with your relative or cousin is a big embarrass for community especially when you got married, the one who will suffer is your siblings maybe they will born abnormal? Is that true???

If that is true then..I'll better away my cousin, even though we love each other..its hurts huh..but I need to do it!sad

    Thanks for your idea here!

    God Bless!

    Keep on touch!

yea that's true, even though im not sure it if the kid will come out that way since it's your third cousin and not someone closer such as a brother or something. But in my community it is an embarrasement. I mean come on all the men in the world you can find someone who isn't family.

Spiritually, the Holy Bible doesn't mention anything that it is a sin to have a relationship with your 3rd cousin or any relative.

Biologically, it will have birth effects on your offsprings.  Children might have possible physical or mental defects.  You can ask your physician about this matter.

Socially, both of your families, friends and relatives wouldn't approve it.  It can be a moral societal issue.

Pray for guidance before you decide.

Some of that 'inbreeding' produced some very talented individuals. Right off I can think of 3. Jerry 'Killer' Lee, Mickey Gilly, and Jimmy Swaggert. All really great musicians and singers and cousins. Not too partial to Jimmy though.

That means your incest as well because new scientific shows that EVERYONE in the world are related no less than 50th cousin.

If anyone is interested in the issue of risk of congenital anomalies in babies born to different "levels" of cousins, here's the National Institutes of Health has on it:
