"You are responsible for your own happiness!"
I tend to live by that motto. I can't imagine what (needs) I'd have with regard to our marriage that would not coincide with our overall goals.
Having said that if there was a function she wanted me to attend with her while I was planning to stay at home and watch a game, odds are I would escort her to the event. By and large if you love someone you want them to be happy.
However if she knows I HATE doing a particular thing then she wouldn't bother asking me or vice versa. For example if a movie comes out that my wife has no interest in seeing I'll go and check it out alone. We don't try to twist each other's arms to do stuff.
There are some people who measure the love of their spouse by how much their mate is willing to be inconvenienced to make them happy! "Doing what you don't want to do proves you love me!" That's always sounded kind of "sick" and "selfish" to me.
If I love someone enough to know their (likes and dislikes) I'm not going to push them into doing things that they (don't) want to do!
One man's opinion! :-)
Though you may not believe but I tend to do that in every case. Thank you. Interesting question.

I'm just coming back after a several year hiatus, and one of the most exciting things that started when I was here was the HubChallenge. Originally, it was 30 hubs in 30 days. Now I see it's changed to either updating your hubs or 30 hubs in 60 days. I tried the original once, and I failed...

My question is, who is doing the laundry these days and for whom? Or are we evolving into a nation of people, young and old, who claim "I do my own laundry, period."wondering
