Is you job killing your social life?
As a corrections officer I often get 4 standard reactions,…
1) “you’re a cop?“ followed by a long pause,…. then they split.
2) “can you kick my ass? …No. were you planning in needing an ass kicking?
3) “will you put handcuffs on me when we have sex?“ No. You still bucking for that ass kicking?
4) “do you like looking at buff guys lifting weights all day?”…the actual color of saltpeter is day-glo orange.
So does anyone else have a job that challenges your social life?
If I had a social life, it might. "Oh, you're a writer? What do you write?" "Mostly website content, informational health and wellness stuff, and catalog descriptions." It's pretty much always followed by, "Oh, that must be fun...I tried to write a book once." And it dies. Very sudden death. I can communicate brilliantly in text (if I do say so myself), but not so well in speech -- never quite enough to keep the conversation going.
I had a summer job few years ago and that did stop me from living to enjoy myself I eventually quit and working for me is just great.
Oh my gosh, I too am a Corrections Officer, for 17 years on them night shift, it has done killed it along time ago. Most of the comments and questions bring to mind knucklehead for me. It gets old. They usually say I bet you could tell come wild stories, I say, I bet I won't. Then they say do you have a gun? Do the inmates hit on you. Then they say you don't look very tuff. I really is an occupation you tell after you get to know someone, not while you are.
