What is the scripture that speaks to you most profoundly and guides you in your daily walk with God.
I believe that it is important to live the Word of God more that just speak it. People need to see the Bible in you through your actions
Romans 8: 38-39 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor heigth nor depth, nor any other creature shall separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Psalms 91 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
I love Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." I love this scripture because it reveals that we have an open invitation from Christ to seek Him at any time. Secondly, He gives us the blessed assurance that there will be an answer to whatever we ask of Him. Thirdly, in His answer, He will reveal some of His mysteries to us. Since Christ has no broken promises, we can depend on His Word as we move about our world. What a blessing.
It is a matter of inner growth. We are all different.
Some people are attracted by New Age ideas and will read books accordingly. Some are influenced by Life Coaches and motivational speakers and writers. Some are esoteric and others feel the spirit of surrender and would read accordingly.
Your point about living the word of God is very valid and extremely profound. Actions with a sincere and pure motive is influenced by God and this is what gives it its power. The lives of All Saints demonstrates this. They come first, and the books come after. Books, no matter how inspirational, are written about the lives of those who led and taught by example.
What speaks to me most is the language of Love: A commitment to God by faith; to verbal and interior prayer, and to serve our brothers and sisters: mankind. Much peace.
In revelation one of Gods promise; One day I will wipe away every tears that you have suffered in this earth.
Be still and Know…… and also : But those who trust in the Lord for help… will rise on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31
