I would imagine finding the "right person" has always had a level of difficulty no matter what one's sexual orientation is.
When it comes to love and relationships most of us (fail our way to success). If this were not the case we'd all be married to our high school sweethearts! Few people hit the love jackpot early in life!
I imagine gay/lesbian couples have the same issues in their relationships as heterosexual couples.
They however may have more pressures and judgments placed upon them from those outside of their relationship. However slowly but surely it looks like things are improving in that area.
Marriage equality laws are a major step in society's acceptance.

To love them? No, not difficult, if you happen to be gay. It's perfectly natural.

But to be gay, in a world that isn't quite ready to accept you - that's not all that easy.Depending on where you are in the world, you can be accepted, but in other countries in the world, you can be imprisoned or killed for being homosexual.

If you happen to be a lesbian in some of these countries - you could be subjected to what is termed "corrective-rape" - rape to "make" you straight.

Even in your own family it could be difficult - if they are anti-gay, very very close minded, extremely religious etc. Coming out can be very hard, and very difficult.

But for some it's not. It can be easy if you have accepting friends and family and lots of support.

Loving is easy. Being an authentic version of yourself isn't always.
